AFCON 2025

Nigeria did well at AFCON but fell to host Morocco in the semi finals after a penalty shootout. When it went to penalties I just hoped no Fulham player missed. Unfortunately Chukwueze missed his shot right after a Moroccan had missed his in the second round. Iwobi never got the chance to take a shot after Morocco saved another and coverted their final shot.

Nigeria will play Egypt for third. The Fulham trio generally did well and Fulham's form while they were out made it easier to cheer on Nigeria. I will be glad to have them back!

 

I just checked the stats after the game. From that perspective, the worst of it was that Chukwueze was subbed into the match at the 120th minute - which I presume meant that he was put in specifically for the penalties.
