The Concacaf champions League kicks off for St. Louis City tonight and I believe the MLS has a whole this weekend. St Louis CITY is largely unchanged from last season so we will see if their high press, counter attacking style can get them to the playoffs again. Still big questions on defense. When are you coming home Tim Ream?

I'll be in attendance tonight. Bought these tickets months ago. An outdoor game in February in St. Louis is always a crap shoot. Should be about 50 degrees at kickoff. Not bad considering we got 3 inches of snow on Friday afternoon.

Just an aside .... Despite the assholic Broadcasting contract which hopefully will be repaired to at least allow local station to show games, I am really impressed by the growth of MLS Since I have been watching. New teams, stadiums (not always where they were projected to be) but ..
On the whole, it looks like Soccer is finally rooted deep in the good old USA.
    Thank you, Lamar Hunt!

I don't understand it. I love the cup. All about the money. This decision does nothing to grow the game.

I have fond memories of going when we had a USL team and the Fire came to town. I also liked being on the MLS side when Omaha came last year.

Went to the essentially useless game last night of St. Louis City vs. Juarez. I just don't understand this tournament format. We were through to the next round before the game kicked off and guaranteed a home game next round regardless of the result. I honestly don't know why a game took place. I did go to standing section for the first time. Proud to say my overweight body remained upright for over 3 hours. Juarez won on PK's if you were curious and won the group.

hey! awesome that youre going to the st.louis city match !teir high-pressing style can be exciting, but the concerns about defense are understandable.as for the weather ,50 degrees is quite decent for a feb game, especially after the snow. It'll be interesting to see how they perform in the CONCACAF Champions League.Let us know how it geos after the match !
    Cheers,

I was unaware that MLS Cup was today until I saw it in the TV listings, so I watched a little bit. NY vs. LA, just like baseball. How exciting. Only MLS game I've watched this year. I get my soccer elsewhere now.

I’m sure MLS execs were bummed when Messi and Miami lost to Brad Guzan turning the clock back in between the sticks for Atlanta.

Hats off to the Galaxy for winning their 6th Cup (even without their best player Riqi Puig, who got hurt in the Conference Final) Happy to report @tim, longtime season ticket holder (even thru the lean years) was still at the stadium celebrating the win hours after the match was over.

Really hard for the average fan to consume until today, since you had to have both Apple TV and paid for the season pass. Apple at least showed it for free on their platform.
