Sorry if I missed it, or put it in the wrong category, but what the hey.
Most of you already know Claudio Ranieri replaced Xisco Munoz at Watford on Oct. 4th.
Today Nuno Espírito Santo is out at Tottenham after 17 matches.
I’m not sure if we’re inclined to include Championship managers here, but I kinda am, since we’re there too. Barnsley sacked Markus Schopp today as well: they’re second from the bottom and we play them at the Cottage the 20th of this month (yep, it’s November y’all).

Santo should have stayed at Wolverhampton.

Enjoyed Luton's fan page comment from Oct 5 "there's only two Watford managers left until Christmas"

Some friends are Wolves fans, and they were in agreement it was time for both parties to move on. However, he had no business going to Spurs where we was always a dead man walking.

Thanks for the info. I didn't have any inside scoop. He did a great job getting Wolves to the Prem and succeeding there. It made sense to me that a bigger club might be interested, but it makes no sense to me that Spurs didn't give him a chance -- why'd they bother to hire him?

There was a strong Portuguese influence with Wolves. There was trust and belief between manager and players. I have no idea why Levy picked him, but the very looooooong drama with Kane produced uncertainty among the managerial group. By the time it was settled, all the "good jobs" were gone.

I’m not sure what it is about this club, but it seems marquee players figure something out relatively quickly, i.e., it’s not an atmosphere conducive to winning trophies. That, and the way Levy does business just seems to rub them the wrong way. Now they’re on the verge of chasing off the best striker England’s produced in a long time. And let’s not forget the Gareth Bale saga. What a crime to waste such a palace of a stadium.

The Canaries vote to sack Daniel Farke…before he leads the team to their first win of the season at Brentford. All righty then. Not a surprise, but a bit weird.

    https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...daniel-farke-dismissed-premier-league-8469414

Middlesbrough have traded Neil Warnock for Chris Wilder.

And Villa finally pulled the trigger on Dean Smith.

Oh, that 3rd international break of the season…

Watching the management carnage on TV this morning, and I find myself wondering just how attractive our gaffer is to the big bucks clubs.

    Fingers crossed.

I think he’s got some reputation rebuilding work to do after the way things ended at Everton. Or not. Who knows? There was a significant gap between his sacking there and Shad’s visit to his Portuguese domicile this summer, although I suppose sitting out 2020 wasn’t such a bad idea.
All this to say I don’t think we’re at as much risk to lose him as we might otherwise have been.

Not long at all, as it turns out, eh Joe? If you had agreed with the columnists and commentators, whose job it is to render opinions on such topics, that Ole was on the precipice every other month for the past 3 seasons of getting sacked, you’re finally right. You may remember United appointed him “caretaker” boss when they sacked The Special One. He was supposed to return to Norway and Molde at the end of the season, but won 14 of 19. So they kept him. Seemed like a good idea at the time. From then until now, it seemed as if every time his job was on the line, the squad responded with a couple of wins and a string of competitive performances to save him. Not this time. Here’s the question for me. If clubs like Spuds (at least last time), Watford, Aston Villa, Glasgow Rangers and even us can have a plan in place to move quickly to get a permanent manager hired, what’s Man United’s problem? As soon as it became obvious Scott Parker wouldn’t be returning for a third full season, Shad fired up one of the Flex ‘N’ Gate jets, flew to Marco’s house in Portugal, and made him an offer (to coach a second tier club) that he couldn’t refuse. Tottenham had Antonio Conte on board practically before the ink was dry on Nuno’s severance check. But they whiffed at replacing Jose Mourinho seven months ago, didn’t they? Watford, who change managers these days like new parents change diapers, sacked Xisco Munoz on October 3rd and introduced Claudio Ranieri on October 4th. They know the drill. Villa took a pedestrian four days to announce Steven Gerrard as Dean Smith’s successor. They had to know Stevie G. was ready to bolt Rangers, even though he had no doubt spurned numerous advances from presumably bigger clubs as soon as it was obvious he would succeed wildly in Glasgow. He supposedly turned down the Newcastle job after only one season in Scotland when Rafa Benitez left The Magpies. “Comfortable” at the Ibrox, supposedly. Until this month anyway, when Villa called. The Scots, even blue bloods like Rangers, are used to losing gaffers to richer European giants. Somehow they dug up Giovanni van Bronckhorst in a week’s time to lead their club. Menner van Bronckhorst was last spotted on a touchline in Guangzhou City about a year ago. He left for “family reasons.” Rangers must’ve heard those “family reasons” had mysteriously evaporated.
Now comes the mighty, richest, most successful club, arguably, on the planet. They sack their fourth manager since the end of the Sir Alex Ferguson era, yet have no apparent permanent successor warming up in the bullpen. Michael Carrick just won his maiden, a Champions League match no less. Just like Ole did…. The supposed obvious choice is Mauricio Pochettino, yet they can’t, or won’t, pry him from the clutches of his current employer, the Manchester United of France, Paris Saint-Germain. It would seem to me that if ManUre really wanted Senor Pochettino to run their squad, right now, they could follow the required and accepted rules and formalities and get it done. But…again…why is the (arguably) biggest football club on earth not adequately prepared for the inevitable, the decision to “part ways” and “go in a different direction” on the touch line? Mind boggling. And yet, is there anybody here and elsewhere who wouldn’t mind seeing the Yankees of the footy world muck it up and fall on lean, less successful times? My hand’s up. Carry on Glazers. Nuttin’ but love for ya’ Red Devils.

Wow. Looks like a combination of impatience plus wage budget disagreement. Joka doesn’t suffer fools gladly. If he thinks something isn’t right, he says so, consequences be damned. One would think he wouldn’t be out of work long, although his tendency is to retreat to an obscure job somewhere like Israel or Qatar. Ironically, the team they beat in his last match in charge for the Blades, Reading, should be considering a change from fellow Serb Veljko Paunovic. But…the Royals have financial issues, having been deducted six points just over a week ago for violating the league’s profitability and sustainability rules. If Sheff U are stingy, how much worse would managing Reading be? Hope he gets a more competitive, higher profile gig somewhere in Europe. A shame he won’t get the warm welcome and appreciation he almost certainly would have from the Craven Cottage faithful next month. Bummer.

So what do you get when you win your team promotion from League 1, beat the number 3 team in the league, and then the number 2 team in the league at their home to get 10 points clear of relegation? Sacked of course! Hull's new owners have shown McCann the door.
