I was sorry to see that the USMNT has decided to copy Mexico by berating CONCACAF referees as an acceptable tactic. It was disgusting; I hope it doesn't become part of our brand.

Oh, and it's nice and all supporting US in international competitions, but we have to be the only country with TWO men's national teams. The single largest factor in keeping the United States from being a top quality national side is MLS. With half our talent playing in Europe, it's insane for us NOT to have a domestic league that has a different international schedule than Europe. The reason we don't follow the Europe is that MLS decided from the beginning that MLB was dying and the NFL was the only sport people wanted to watch in the winter, so we have this ridiculous schedule and ... as a result ... TWO international squads neither of which contains our best 11. US Soccer is suffering from a 1970s viewpoint.

What a brilliant match! Spanking Mexico twice in finals just a few months apart ... .

While I don't outright hate Mexico (typically I just hate a few specific players), I found myself excitedly saying "suck it Mexico!" when Robinson put that cross in the back of the net.

@pettyfog Mr. Fog, glad to hear you’re reignited about watching games again. Not going to lie, haven’t always been a big Gyasi fan, and I don’t think he’s a starter, but I think he has carved out a role coming off the bench that suits his best attributes which are pace and relentlessness.

Did anyone do more to raise their stock then Miles Robinson? And that was before the winning goal.

While I like Tyler Adams to start, Acosta reminded us that all will be okay if the oft-injured Adams is out.

@BarryWhite I think Hercules Gomez said it best, ‘Some team needs to go get Matthew Hoppe out of Bundesliga 2’.

Didn’t watch the match live, too busy moving my daughter and husband up to the Bay Area, but can’t wait to see the whole thing on the dvr when I get home.

PS: Have to give credit where it’s due, tip of the cap to Berhalter for instilling belief.
