Bets on who the new Head Coach is? If I were in the business, I'd be skittish about working with Baby Khan.

I saw an article in the Mirror that quoted an unnamed source that works at the yacht club who knew a woman who was cleaning the Khan's yacht who heard from a bus boy that Tony had his eye on Ted Lasso.

I will say this is probably the first season in over 5 years where I am less than optimistic, if not outright morose.

The season starts in 6-7 weeks. Scott, who was to leave "imminently" 20 days ago, is still in a stalemate in with management. I think we're still accepting applications for our director of scouting. We have made zero new signings.

Yes this could all change but considering the PR saber-rattling at the end of last season, the Chairman's confounding mealy-mouth message, and the apparent lack of urgency by all facets of the hierarchy, I wonder what is going on here.

Heard good things about this Ted guy. Good Midwestern work ethic. Bakes his own biscuits.

Marcus Bettinelli, Fulham's longest serving player at 15 years, has not been resigned and has left the club. Fulham has a number of nice retrospectives for him. Although he's not a top shelf keeper, he's given his all for the club and it is nice that they are giving him some recognition.

Twitter rumors are that Horvath is signing with Fulham.

I like Betts. It was odd to watch him fall in and out of favor so many times.

Mixed thoughts about these rumors of Ethan Horvath to Fulham (https://www.fulham.news/2021/07/08/report-fulham-winning-the-race-to-sign-usa-international/). Not sure that he would offer an upgrade on Rodak. In my mind, they are very close in quality, but Rodak is 2 years younger. If Horvath wants sure playing time, Fulham may not be the best place for him. On the other hand, someone like Horvath would cause both to compete hard for the starting job, which could only be good for the team.

Also, we have too many mediocre CBs. We need to get rid of a number of them rather than add another in Carter-Vickers (another rumor). Might as well see if some of the academy boys can step up, instead.

I have mixed thoughts seeing all the training photos on social media. Pictures of Seri, Le Marchand, Knockaert, Mawson, S. Sessegnon, Kamara, etc. Will that be the team again? Where is Silva looking?

Don't worry about CB's daddude, this is the year that Kongolo will play more than one match.

    @astroevan Kongolo and Mawson. :)

Horvath went to Forest. A better move for him, though Bryce Samba is a good keeper and won't be easy to beat out. I still fancy Rodak for a Prem-level GK, though not likely to match someone like Areola. We need someone of real quality to push Rodak for the starting job. We need at least one, if not two, new GKs.

I'm curious what everyone thinks our biggest needs are. If we can sign only 2 or 3 players before the season starts, what positions should those be?

As for me, in addition to a GK, I think we need another #6 to complement Reed, and one more finisher in a #9 or a false #9 role. At least.

I expect we will lose Robinson and Johansen.

A #9...too bad those don't grow on trees in the SW6.

Fulham are one of just a handful of Championship teams that haven't announced any signings yet. Blackburn, Derby, Reading, and Sheffield are the only others that I'm aware of. Derby is understandable since they only recently got confirmation that they were staying in the Championship. Sheffield and Fulham are probably in similar situations in that they have new managers and a number of players who seem like they are returning. However, I'm still concerned by the lack of signings. I don't think Fulham needs a lot, but another panicked close to the transfer window would not be in their best interests.

I agree Fulham needs another goalkeeper since Fabri isn't going to be it.

Rather than a midfielder or striker, I'd put a priority on unloading Knockaert and/or Cavaleiro and bringing in new wingers.

If we hang on to Mitro, I think our #9 situation is fixed. I'd like to see someone who feeds off the 9 like Deuce used to feed off Zamora -- somebody who is always looking to score. Having two players like that means that we can shift to offense anywhere on the pitch. The guy I'm looking for doesn't necessarily need to have a great goalscoring record, just the ability to put pressure on opposing defenders.

Dike would be nice, but ... .
