    Once COVID is over, our primary impediment to having a quality national men's team goes back to US SOCCER & MLS's refusal to adopt world-wide international dates. I have no idea why they're so adamant about going it alone, but it's guarenteeing that we'll continue to be a 2nd or 3rd rate football nation.

    While the U23 team is pursuing the Olympics, the senior side is gathering in Austria for camp and a couple of friendlies. Don't ask me who is there though - I've gotten a bit confused at the comings and goings due to pandemic protocols for different teams, leagues and countries. I do know they will play Jamaica on Thursday at 1pm EDT (ESPN2) and Northern Ireland on Sunday at 12pm EDT (Fox).

    I'm still curious as to who Berhalter thinks is his best 23 players. Once again the camp is almost entirely based of players from one continent - this time it's Europe, last time it was North America. I also hope he's got a plan for integrating the two sides in order to create the best options for America heading into World Cup Qualifying later this year.
