speaking of music ... since I can't perform while in quarantine [and it's driving me crazy], I've decided to emulate my music partner and put some music on Facebook. We're also trying to figure out a way to do both of us and then perhaps even a trio with HatterMom.
If you're on FB and are interested, check out FB pages for Steve Feinstein and Mary Lou Hymel. There is a pre-quarantine video of Steve and Don on Steve's page, and individual videos of each of us. Check it out if you have a mind to; enjoy it if you have half a mind!

I started listening to John Prine in high school, a year or two after his debut album came out. It was very different than most of the artists we listened to: Alice Cooper, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Allman Brothers, etc. "Illegal Smile," the first track, got our attention. The rest just kind of fell into place. Been listening to and seeing him in concert every chance I get ever since. He died last week from complications of the coronavirus. Here's a tune from his last album at Austin City Limits from October, 2018. RIP to one of the greatest American singer-songwriters ever.

So, if you're interested in seeing some low-tech [but somewhat charming] music videos by yours truly, here's how it can happen:
    1 go to Facebook
    2. find the page for Mary Lou Hymel
    3. click on videos
    4. click on "Mary's Videos"
    5. and there they are. I add one every Wednesday morning, hence the tag "Wednesday Morning Ten a.m."

Yes! The music thread is still here.

This is the song that I've had associated with Fulham recently as I try to find someway to will them to do better - Mr. Motivator. "You can do it!" "It's all about the confidence!" "All you need is a solid back four!" Well, that last line isn't officially in the song, but when I sing it it is.

Does anything say the 80s more than "Panama" or "Jump" by Van Halen?

Wasn't a huge fan, but it was entertaining to see this group enjoy the stage and music videos.

Whenever I hear Raphinha's name during a Leeds match I think of this song because it sounds like they are singing his name in the chorus:

After the late loss to Arsenal, the chorus to this song was in my head. Fulham doesn't break hearts, Fulham destroys them.

RIP to Dusty Hill, the bass player for ZZ Top. Even though they struck gold on MTV w/Sharp Dressed Man, Legs, etc. give me the early Texas Blues they produced:

I'm so sick of hearing "Seven Nation Army" at sporting events, so I was thrilled today that something different was played after goals were scored in the Women's Soccer bronze medal match. Thank you stadium audio guy. You are my hero and you Push the Tempo.

RIP to Stones drummer Charlie Watts. That stoic face and more then happy to let the other guys be the personalities (this video is perfect, just a couple close ups of Charlie near the end).

How in the Hell did Keith Richards outlive Charlie??

RIP to Vincente ‘Cheney’ ’ Fernandez aka El Rey (The King). If you’ve ever seen mariachi music I guarantee they played Volver Volver. My Mother-In-Laws favorite, a legend is gone.
