The League Cup is with us THIS WEDNESDAY

We'll be visiting Ipswich, and not even ESPN+ is carrying the match

It'll be interesting to see how many of our new players will feature.

I think I'll save that tenner....but I do hope we get off the mark and beat Ipswich (funnily enough, this was my Sunday Bar league teams name) So at least it gives me the chance to talk some shit to some of my guys, even though half of them have absolutely no idea who, what or where Ipswich is.

Fulham starts off the Cabaro Cup with a win over League 1's Ipswich Town. Four players saw their debuts for Fulham: Alphonse Areola, Kenny Tete, Antonee Robinson and Mario Lemina. From the stats it appears Tete may have had the best day of the group. He earned an assist with a cross that Mitrovic headed in for the only goal of the day. Lemina was the only one of the group who didn't get a start. He replaced Cairney for the last 30 minutes.

Fulham's Twitter posts specifically called out LeMarchand for a great pass that lead to the goal - seriously! LeMarchand!

Areola didn't have much to do with only one shot on target and Fulham dominating possession 2 to 1.

Fulham hosts Sheffield Wednesday in the next round.

And here's some highlights of suspect origin. Watch them while you can.

EDIT: Highlights NOT of suspect origin from the official Fulham YouTube channel! Thanks Fulham.

The cup matches are coming back to back. This Wednesday we're playing ... Wednesday.

Wednesday are in last place with a total of MINUS 8 points. They have, however, won 2, drawn 1, and lost NONE. So, basically, they're one of the top form teams in the Championship. This match is at the Cottage.

I'm wondering whether Scott will continue to experiment with players trying to find the right combination, or if he's already decided and wants to give that XI a run out, OR he's got his league XI set and is now following the age-old Fulham domestic cup tradition of losing as quickly as possible to concentrate on the league.

Parker previewed Wednesday's Carabao Cup match with Wednesday:

    Some items of note:
    • Wednesday haven't given up a goal in their first four matches
    • Fulham will have an extra two days before facing Villa on Monday, so there is less concern tiring out players prior to a Premier League match
    • All players are heathly

Also from the Offal, Tony Gale’s column. Really touched on something that will be key this season, team morale/spirit. Tony/Scott are focusing on that with the re-signing of guys that were key to promotion. Winning also helps, so another victory today will keep the positive vibes.

Another reason not to panic as @HatterDon as stated multiple times, the goal is survival, and 6 other teams in the Prem have as many points as we do.

The lineup is out and still no glimpse of Aina. Is he hurt? Not match fit?

Aina must have a slight knock...

Nice 2-0 victory, Bobby w/a goal in consecutive matches. Let’s get ready for Villa!!

So this Brentford match is tomorrow and appears to be scheduled for 12:30 EDT on ESPN+

They'll want revenge. I'm guessing that Parker will put out a similar mix of newer signings and the trio of youngsters that he's included in the previous cup matches. Hopefully he also implements the same game plan that neutralized the Bees in the playoff final.

Kenny Tete, Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina will be unavailable due to injury. Parker said they are still waiting on news of the severity of Tete's injury - what looked like a hamstring injury on Monday. I haven't heard what is up with Reed. I was shocked to not see him in Monday's lineup and since they had said everyone was healthy I had thought it was just a poor managerial decision!

One for Brentford. Simple mistakes again. Hector too late to react to the ball, Aina to late to get goalside of his mark. Done. Parker will be taking a pull on his flask.

Anytime Seri passes, I expect him to underhit the ball. He does it routinely. Lack of confidence?

Second for Brentford. Fulham defense = margarine. It ain’t even butter. Too thin.

Can’t think of one defensive player, including center mids, of whom I could say they’ve been okay this game. Not one. Robinson is the least awful.

Benrahma makes Hector look as solid and mobile as a shrub. 3:0 Brentford. I really don’t know what the solution for us is come Sunday. No combination works on defense.

Hector was captain today, clearly a message or effort from Parker. Sounds like he didn't live up to the expectations.
