Saturday is the day! We lucked out that Leeds dropped 3 points and WBA dropped two when we threw a point away at home v. Brentwood.

This Saturday, we're meeting up with Leeds at their shack. As is their usual habit, Leeds have struggled somewhat since January, when they lost their top striker. We can take them, IF we take the initiative and keep it.

Luckily the match will be shown live on ESPN+. Also luckily, it's the normal kickoff time. 0855 is much better than 0625.

Brentford are playing Friday 'night' so we'll know if we have to catch up or put some space in between us and them. COYW

Big day planned for Saturday. My neighbor is from Leeds area and will be coming over to have a football morning. He brings that typical English humor with him, so hopefully FFC does enough to keep it down.

Went to a Leeds match back in the early 70s. They had a brilliant team -- silk AND steel. There was also a culture clash going on among their supporters. One stand was catching hell from the home end, who sang "You can shove your season tickets up your ass" x2 with the third round concluding "sideways." Then when the same folks started leaving early "Halftime supporters" was chanted for about 10 minutes.

The thing I remember most fondly about the visit -- aside from the quality of the football -- was the chippie across from Elland Road. We were frozen solid waiting for our coach and I think that was the best meal I ever had in England. Say hi to your neighbor for me dtown!

Well, Brentford do it again. This means we MUST defeat Leeds tomorrow. Since the league resumed, Brentford have taken 6 of 6, WBA, 1 of 6, and Leeds -- like us 0 of 3. If we win tomorrow at Elland Road,
we'll have picked up 3, while the teams above us have picked up 0 and 1. If we DON'T win, we'll have a bigger hill to climb, because Brentford will be COMFORTABLY ahead of us.

Like today's Brentford match, our match with Leeds will be on ESPN+ -- at a decent hour. COYW

Time to gain some ground on those above us!

And we will only win on points, we aren't catching anyone on goal differential.

We really need a win today, but this one has draw written all over it. However...although I have no numbers in front of me to prove it, my sense is that we’ve played better on the road this season. Perhaps that, plus decidedly more energy and execution will mean we can nick 3 points.

    What is going on?

Mitrovic seems like hes regressing, what was he thinking elbowing Ben White in the head in the 2nd minute? Knockhart and others screaming at each other, all while controlling the match and playing relatively well...not a good sign at all.

Play like this and we won’t have to worry about the playoffs.

These last two matches have killed all my excitement about the season resuming.

Even with 12 shots I never felt like Fulham were going to score.

If the league responds with a three-match ban for Mitro, it'll be the correct call.

We'll be lucky to make the playoffs. Brentford and Cardiff are HOT right now. We've dropped six points, and we're only four points away from missing the playoffs altogether. Add to this the hit our 0-6 goal ratio in our last two matches, and we can forget getting anything out of goal difference.

(First, hello everyone from what feels like an interminable absence. I hope everyone is staying well!)

Second, so unless something truly crazy bad happens, the worse we'll likely finish is 6th, as Preston & Derby in 7th & 8th are both 7 points behind us, and they still have to play each other and several playoff teams.

With that said, if we're going to salvage anything out of this season, and not meekly exit the first round of the playoffs (or collapse out of it) Parker needs to go. Now.

There's always a wrong time to fire a manager, but this is not one of them. There are 7 matches left, which is more than enough time to bring someone in to do something with this team.

Only twice this calendar year have we scored more than 1 goal. The numbers go: 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 3, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 1, 0, 0. If we want to get very nit-picky, the game with 3 goals all came in ~30mins of the first half; the game with 2 goals was a result of a 95th minute empty netter. For a squad built like ours, and with the goals like ours, that is simply inexcusable.

One of the things the announcer said that caught my ear was that Fulham had the SMALLEST number of scorers in the Championship. Our low goal scoring when added to the fact that Mitro has most of our goals ain't too good.
Don't know about firing Parker, though. If we manage to get promoted, then I'd definitely fire him.

No highlights from Fulham as of yet on their YouTube channel, but Leeds did post these:

You've all made a number of excellent points on Fulham's many layers of bad. Which is probably the worst thing right now, it is that there isn't just one thing to fix. The offense can't score, the defense is incredibly weak against counter-attacks, the midfield can't control the ball, and fundamentally the manager can't manage.

Like Timmy, I think Fulham will still crawl into the playoffs. Preston is on a worse run than Fulham right now. In their seven remaining games Derby still has to play all of the top seven teams, except Fulham, so I don't expect their run to continue at the same pace.

I don't think that matters much though, this Fulham team would go out in the first round regardless of the opposition.

EDIT: Based on my search history Facebook apparently decided that I enjoy watching Fulham suffer at the hands of Leeds so for no particular reason this morning it put a video into my feed of Lewis Cook's 35 yard goal against Fulham in February of 2016. Totally unnecessary Facebook. Totally unnecessary.

Getting rid of the manager at this moment is not an option. I agree Parker hasn't done enough with the quality we have, but we're stuck together till the end of the season.

What happens if Mitro is out for 3 or more games? Can we hold onto that 6th spot? Will anyone score, ever? Is Harry Arter actually any good at football?

    Doesn't look good
