Just horrible, prayers for those affected. Just numbing to think there are people in the world that do these acts.

One word comes to mind: cowards.

An 8 year old boy is confirmed deceased and unfortunately, probably more to come. Still no claim of responsibility.

After vacation last week I decided to take today off. I would have been getting ready to head back into Boston for the second part of my work day around that time today. Terrible and tragic for those affected, I'm so glad it was not as bad as it could have been and praying it does not get worse

Currently I can only express my sadness at the violence and sympathy to the victims.

Glad to hear you're fine Jim. Disgusting, senseless, cowardly act.

a lot of media are reporting arrests and then saying nope. I really hope they are indeed close to making an arrest.

I read the newspaper on the radio to the sight impaired every Thursday morning, and this morning had two firsts:

    1. The first time I ever read an article about the NHL [we only get 8 minutes for sports, although I do find time to squeeze in articles about soccer].
    2. The first time I ever choked up reading a sports article -- the Bruins, the Sabres, their fans, the PA announcer, the singer, the Fire Department honor squad. I'm choking up again.

Colbert was right. There's no way to intimidate Boston.

Matt Reis of the NE Revs was there when the bombs went off. His wife was running and he was there with his FIL who was injured and is still in critical condition. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer ... ombing.ap/

Matt is currently being interviewed on Piers Morgan.

I believe Chris Tierney of the Rev's was also in the area

Very Eerie in Boston today, quiet and no traffic. I was on my way to work when I heard that all MBTA service would be shut down including the Commuter Rail that I work on. When I called to find out where my equipment was in the yard I was told that no train were moving at all, including movements to the station form the yard. So my crew made our way up to the crew room and watched what was going on on TV.

To paraphrase what Adam Sandler said on twitter. If you %^&$ with Boston they will shut the whole city down to find you.

Thank goodness. Big props to law enforcement on getting the suspect in custody.

Federal, state, and local law enforcement with the cooperation of the citizens. The system works when people allow it to happen.

Quite a day being at the Red Sox game today. Emotional pre-game from the video tribute to the National Anthem to the ceremonial first pitches. Not many dry eyes in the house, I wasn't tearing up because of it, I swear, I got something in my eye, yea that's it. Neil Diamond came to Boston on his own. Hopped a flight at 430a pacific time and landed in Boston at 1230p. He called the Red Sox and asked if he could sing Sweet Caroline, for some reason that nobody knows, is a Fenway Staple. Since 1912 the Red Sox home jerseys have always said Red Sox on the front. Today for the first time in history at home they said Boston. After the ceremonial pitches were thrown David Ortiz took the mic and said a few words. He thanked everyone from the Mayor, to the Govenor, to law enforcement. He finished by echoing what I believe is most peoples seniment here in Boston when he said "This is our f#(%ing city, and nobody is going to dictate our freedom." Even the FCC had no problem with what he said.
