Okay, this is weird: since 2008, I've been working with both PC & Apple stuff with not much difficulty. My MacBookPro is old but has been upgraded to a newer operating system about a year ago. My Sony Vaio has already died once but has been revived. Introductions over.

About 10 days or so ago, I discovered that I can no longer load Facebook on my Mac. I can log on to every other site I regularly visit, but Facebook is a mystery. Neither the direct link nor an attempt to go through Google search and then log on is successful. I click, the little bar gets to about 25% and freezes.

Anyone have the slightest clue how this happened and what I can do about it? I'd prefer not to go directly to Money Job's Genius line and be charged a couple hundred dollars just to be told I need to buy a new Mac.

    Any help?

Could you provide a few more details? What browser are you using? Have you tried it with different browsers? Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?

    Thanks for responding.

    1. I use Safari on the Mac. It's the only browser I've ever used on this mochine
    2. I cleared the browser's cache. The only result was losing the passwords, etc. My other sites load just as before -- perhaps a tad quicker. The problem with Facebook continues.

I should have mentioned that I can access Facebook via my phone and also from my PC. This Mac thang is recent and seems to be the only problem.

I've seen a history of this Facebook thing on-line, but none of the suggestions make sense. I think I may have to sacrifice a chicken over it.

Do you have any virus protection programs on your Mac, and what version of Safari are you using? You might need to clear cookies, too, if you haven't already done so.

Thanks for clearing the cache. Sorry that didn't work. Do you mind trying to install Chrome on your Mac and seeing if that works?

Did you go through this checklist for Safari? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204098

Thanks; I'll check the Safari checklist and get back to you.

Dont know diddly about Mac or Safari... but a quick scan of google search results suggests it may be due to 'content blocking' (adblocker), javascript fault... or both.
