Quick turnaround to the same opponent, and 3 points in the Championship is more important than the Carling' er' Capital One' er' Fill in the ____ Sponsor Cup. Time to channel our inner Topper Harley and declare WAR on Bristol City, because as we know:

And hoping gummy bears are available in the locker room:

Some thematic doo wop, so dated it's hilarious. Let's stomp 'em on Saturday!

I'm hoping Joka does a little lineup shuffle to get some guys' attention.
Would like to see Bettinelli, Woodrow, Christensen, and maybe a few others get a crack. I think we miss Aluko and Ayite more than anyone's willing to admit, so I hope we can compensate for that. If Fredericks is anywhere near close, I'd like to see him as well. It's definitely time to tear up the sheet from opening day and start over from scratch. And it would be nice to score some GOALS (plural). COYW!

Jokanovic says that Aluko will be available, but not Ayite or Fredericks. We also won't have Kalas, but I've wanted to see how a Madl/Sigurdsson would work.

image.jpeg Not related to our match, but the blog post of the day goes to The Guardian's Rob Smyth.

I see a pattern. Only Parker and Cairney not brought in after Joka's arrival.

An August to remember and a September to forget. 5 points from a possible 15 at home won't get you anything but whiplash as teams fly by in the table.

So glad they put this on YouTube making this horror easier to share!

In the highlights below the thing that upsets me the most is Madl's reaction after he is burned just before the second goal. After he gets beat he just stands there flapping his arms uselessly about a wished for offside call. If you get burned, run and get back into the damn play. I don't know if it would have made a difference but I know that what he decided to do was totally useless. That was just pathetic and is representative of the kind of play that had resulted in 2 points for the month of September.

On the plus side we're one of just 7 teams with 2 or fewer losses.

We couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat. And the defense looked like last year's...and the year before, and the year before. It's left me wondering if our start was a fluke. After listening to Joka's post match presser, I began to wonder if his broken English causes communication problems. It seemed worse than during his one on ones with Sarah Brookes. I can normally understand him on those. Saturday's post mortem was painful to decipher. Whether that's a problem or not (didn't seem to be at Watford when they earned promotion), he's still got a lot of work to do here.
