IN case you were wondering, as I was, whatever became of the most recent "NEXT BIG THING," here's an article from Yanks-Abroad.

I remember many of us being VERY increased at the skills, pace, and strength of the kid. I think I posted at the time that we might be looking at the first world-class American outfield player. Anyhow, glad he's in the system again and working with Tab Ramos -- for my money the closest we've ever come to a world-class outfield player.

I hope he progresses quickly. We need all the help we can get at this point in the proceedings. Those are tough injuries, though. Few seem to come back 100% and regain their previous form. Let's hope for our lads he becomes the exception.

I have been wondering about Renken...'a series of ACL injuries to both knees'? :( Really bummed to read this because I almost fell out of my chair when I saw him play v Brazil's U17 team. Knee problems for someone so young means it's highly likely he'll never come close to his full potential. At least Ramos and John O'Brien were able to show us how great they were before injuries killed their careers, this kid probably won't.
