What! And I almost missed it... which I guess points to the same thing.
Well, Heather... Been there, So you know I appreciate your efforts.
Thing about facebook is it doesn't have the same atmosphere... it really doesnt lend itself to banter. Only to feel good, non-commital emotional responses. But then.
I'd kick in a few bucks just to keep the site alive.

well this stinks, but is understandable. i'll never forget any of the fine folk i've met on here, and thanks to you Heather for the upkeep of this site!

~10 years ago I fell in love with a small, mediocre club in southwest london and i really have this board and community to thank for fostering for so, so long. many of us can claim we enjoyed football before it got "cool". back when we had to purchase something called Setanta Sports or go to a bar to watch a game; not just dvr the USA Network.

but as the club's fortunes have waned and its anonymity has set in, so too has a need to have/visit a message board. heck, i'm about to post something on cravencottagenewsround, and even then i wonder about the future of blogging like that. social media has conquered all.

not sure i'll contribute too much on FB, but a central hub would still be nice to keep in touch with everyone.

Don't be going anywhere yet Timmy. Micah has volunteered to take over the reins.

I'm certainly not as active as I would like to be, but still love coming and reading and catching up with what's going on with everyone. I would be happy to chip in to keep in running if that's what is needed.

Heather, thanks so much for doing all you did. I guess I just always took for granted that the site was here and functioning.

Don't think the site is going anywhere. I still need to work everything out with @MicahMan for a full takeover. Although I have no problem being a small, part-time caretaker if everyone helps out with the bills. I'll still add some credentials for Micahman for the site host...it's always good to have a two caretakers just in case.

Whatever your future role, thanks for everything you've done Senator. Looking forward to many more years of connecting here. Thanks MM for stepping up to fill the void.

What are we talking about in terms of cost? I have no idea what goes into making/maintaining a web page or what sort of costs are incurred. Are we talking about a one time donation, monthly, annually? I'm not asking for the books, just a ballpark figure.

The monthly fee runs 14 dollars a month for everything, server and database. Yeah, it's a small site and not much of a fee.

There used to be a donate paypal button to pay the web host directly instead of an individual. I can't seem to find the setup for that on Dreamhost anymore. And, they would take a small chunk out of each site's donation for processing...which stunk. If anybody knows of a better way, please let me know.

Thanks for everything, Heather. I remember coming back from England in December 2004 and watching Fulham was limited to free preview weekends on Fox Soccer Channel. A few years later (I don't remember exactly when) I discovered FulhamUSA and loved the chance to not only commiserate, but chat with you guys through our 2010 European tour. It was a cruel twist of fate that I finally met some fans in South Florida to watch matches with and all EPL matches were televised in 2013-14 and then we were relegated and only on TV a couple times a year again.

I get what everyone is saying about lack of passion. I always check for the result every match day, but I only listen to a couple matches a month (if that) and usually only watch the highlights when we get a positive result. So occasionally I'll go on the chat or post on the Facebook group, but I rarely post here. Still, I'm glad to know it's going to continue to exist, so when things like this happen (if they ever happen again):

I'll have more people to celebrate with...
