Figures the dirty pizz-er* thrower was a Patriots fan.

*As the son of a Boston native, I got a kick out of that.

Thanks, I missed that one. I subscribe to the online MLB package just to get the NESN feed for the Sox games, I don't know if I'm going to be renewing after this season. Even the Yankee supporting husband agreed this was one the best broadcasting duos. I'm glad Don already has a gig lined up in San Diego, at least he and his family will enjoy better weather.

And don't get me started on the way Francona was dragged through the mud after he left. Completely disgraceful.

You trying to get me going again?;)

Dave O'Brien is excellent at what he does and will be great. If you have never heard him on the radio he also does/did work with ESPN, Wednesday Night Baseball If memory serves. Back in 2007 I was in London during the World Series and was able to catch the international TV feed which was from ESPN. One of the games had Dave along with Rick Sutcliff and it was great hearing a Boston voice on the game, much better the Buck and McCarver on Fox :p

If they dump the RemDog as well I don't think I would watch a game next year

Well, from the "dept of obviously redundant posting videos we've all seen dept".. Seriously cannot leave this out for posterity:
    Sorority Selfies Back Story!

I posted this version in which the narration might seem redundant because it gives better background.
Not mentioned is that the scene might actually have been on Stadium Board in which case their actions are totally understandable.
Bottom Line: The D'Backs trolled for it.
However.. first time I saw it I immediately thought Scream Queens might be based on ASU Sorority.

Wainwright's back, but only from the bullpen, at the moment. Carlos Martinez is done for the season with a strained pitching shoulder. Matt Holiday's back, which means some deserving outfield kids aren't gonna be on the playoff roster. Yadi's nursing a slight ligament tear in his catching thumb that may or may not be healed by the projected opener (Oct. 9th).
I think the key to this season's playoffs for my guys is the first series. If they can get past either the Cubs or Pirates, I like their chances of winning # 12. That will be their toughest hurdle, given the familiarity of the teams with each other. Whoever emerges from the sudden death game will be more than ready to give the Redbirds fits. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost to either team. But if they beat them, they'll go all the way.

Stat of the Day: MLB teams were 975-2 when leading by 4 or more runs going into the 9th inning...make that 975-3 as the Halos scored 5 in the top of the 9th to pull out a miraculous 11-10 win at Texas to stay alive for at least one more day.

The Angels and the Astros contrived to give the AL West to the Rangers and then … at the death … are starting to play like they should have the entire month of September. Fun stuff.

Astros in the playoffs! It's been a long road back, it's been a fun ride this season and I can't wait til Tuesday to take on the Yankees. Thought coming in the Astros would be around .500 but I never expected a playoff run, happy to underestimate this team. Let's go!

Hopefully, because this is a league playoff, we here in San Antonio will finally get a chance to watch a Houston Astros game. That asshole owner and his pet cable network has denuded the Alamo City of its long-time Astros fans. I think I've seen 2 or 3 Astros games over the last two seasons.

Having said that, well done to the players and manager for an amazing turnaround. Now beat them damn Yankees.

I'm not happy with a season ending loss, but I'm glad that the Astros avoided a tiebreaker game today. Hopefully Keuchel can come through tomorrow and then we can focus on the five game set that follows.

Nope. We don't get the owner's network on our cable system here, and all the games carried on MLB, TBS, ESPN are blacked out for a "conflict" we don't have. The ONLY games we get are when they're playing the Rangers.

Are you sure about that? I watched their no hitter on mlb network. They play the Rangers 19 times & I'm pretty sure Sunday Night baseball games on ESPN aren't blacked out either (not that I remember them playing any).

Playoffs are national & not subject to blackouts.

While not a fan of one game playoffs in baseball, it does provide fantastic drama, even for the casual supporter. Matchups are good this year - Cubs / Pirates, Yankees / Astros. Still find it funny that the Astros are now an AL club (as I think of Mike Scott's no-hitter to clinch the NL West in 86 against the Giants).

My problem with the one-off in baseball, is that teams have to throw the kitchen sink into one game, and if the club is lucky enough to win, hop on a plane and go tackle a (in theory) better club that has been sitting around the pool for three days. Start the season a week earlier and go best of three in the first "wild card" round. Baseball plays 162, and unless we're talkin' about a game 7 or game 5 in the playoffs, one-offs aren't indicative of a club's quality (sans the Giants v. Pirates in 2014). Still, I'd hope the one-game playoff could be worked into a three-game series - obviously the travel and time crunch won't be corrected (nor should it after six months of baseball), but it would provide, in my opinion, a level field.

And play the damn start of the season games in the west locations or the south as the likelihood of snow in Seattle, SF, Oakland, LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Dallas, etc. in March or April is extremely low. OK, I'll stop now.

Direct TV and AT&T Uverse both carry ROOT Sports but I believe you have to request the channel for it to be active. If you have either of those, you might want to check that out for next season

Said it before, but it's worth repeating. Jeff Luhnow is a darn good baseball man. I'll readily admit I didn't think it would happen this quickly. If Houston sticks with him, the sky's the limit. The Cardinals will be sorry they let him escape.

Speaking of the Cardinals, I'm none too happy with the way they finished at Atlanta. Yes, Matheny was resting a lot of guys. Yes, they swung at everything within the zip code of the plate. But the starters were less than effective, even though they only threw around 50 pitches or so. Looked like batting practice for Atlanta. Not a big deal, most say? Losing, like winning, CAN become contagious. And I don't like to lose...ever. We'll see what happens Saturday, but be it the Cubbies or the Buccos, it would not surprise me in the least to see us come out flat as a griddlecake. And I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
