Yeah, I'm not saying he has to go now. But if we're still seeing the same things in 6-8 weeks, then yeah. Sadly I think that's probably where we're headed.

Big Sam is available, but many won't want him, even though he's an effective manager. So is Nigel Pearson, who is an excellent manager...on the pitch. Off it, he's proven to be a bit of a loon. If he could get that under control he'd be a steal. Heck, I'd probably take him anyway and then can him when we get back to the Prem.

Same defense, same problem conceding late goals. Color me shocked.

I am past the point of believing that time fixes this problem so either the players or coaching portion of the equation needs to change sooner rather than later.

As CC put on his post, the next 4 matches are great opportunities to rack up points. I'm not a fan of giving Kit a chance and then dumping him before the window even closes. That said, it's a results business and these finishes have become all too commonplace.

I am not calling for Kit to be removed because we lost at Hull after two of our starters went down to injuries in the first half. Anybody calling for Kit because we started off poorly this season is silly, but if they're calling him out because we are seeing exactly the same shit as we did last year under Kit has a point. I can't ignore it anymore (even if he does need better players), because I don't think it will help the problems.

I understand the thought behind giving Kit time and waiting for the window to close. I was under that thought as well. I stated in the transfer thread we weren't going to get much higher in the table than last year if we didn't get a decent back 4 in despite the improvements in midfield. The team is looking to wrap up the Ream deal and is still chasing Dunk. Right now, I get the impression we could recruit every star player in the Championship and we'd still be doing the same thing. Conceding on corners and giving up late goals. We're still seeing a lack of movement in offense and no sense of purpose for long stretches of the match. And we're still seeing the late one sub in a match thing again--which I think may be a cause of our late goal woes. We're not getting enough fresh legs out there to deal with the other team's subs. It seems our main issues are coaching and training.

    Exactly what she said.

I understand the club wanting to wait until all the new arrivals are in and Kit has had a month or so to work with them. I don't think it will make a difference but since I don't know that, I can't fault the club giving him a little more time.

I agree with both of you. The troubling thing is exactly what Heather pointed out. We don't look markedly different, i.e, better than we did at the end of last season. Will patience and more time change that? I'm beginning to doubt it. And Brighton just rejected our latest offer for Dunk. Trying to stay positive (Don), but it's difficult at the moment.

I am as hard on the defense as pretty much everyone else, but we really need to start finishing up top as well. Four goals in four matches and only one of them was from a striker. It kind of reminds me of last season when Hoogland was our top scorer at the beginning of the season.

Our defending on their second goal was shocking. Fitness could be an issue though, we looked exhausted. Didn't have the legs to get it clear.

Bodurov looked gassed on that 2nd goal. After losing the 50/50 at the top of the box, his man darts toward goal and Bodurov barely jogs after him. Thus he's wide open, Jazz can't close him down quick enough when the return pass comes and the ball is in the net.

A couple of things. I think we're defending too much and for extended periods in the first half of matches as we struggle to maintain possession and/or get the ball out of our own end. Then we expend more energy in the 2nd half chasing the game. If that trend continues, we'll not only need improved fitness, we'll need to be more fit than most of our opposition.

In the 2nd half, Hull subbed both strikers & their midfield engine (Huddlestone) and, after equalizing, we seemed to back off and protect the point. So you knew a strong late surge was coming. Kit was forced to burn 2 subs early due to the injuries, but he still had the 3rd in his pocket when their 2nd goal came. And he's shown a tendency for using his subs sparingly, if at all. That's surprising b/c fresh legs matter and we've had guys who warranted lifting in every match. Pringle, LVC & Ross in particular have been underwhelming.

Definitely agree that we've struggled to keep possession so far and have had to defend for long periods as a result. I'd love to see Hyndman get a shot in the center of midfield with O'Hara. I think the two of them together in midfield could really help us keep the ball. As much as I love LVC's terrorizing runs toward goal, he can't keep possession like Emerson can. Maybe play five in midfield with LVC in more of a CAM role with O'Hara and Hyndman holding behind him.
