According to the local rag, Even if Cleveland lose game 6 by 40 points, LBJ MUST be MVP.

I disagree. The best player is not usually the MVP. Kobe Bryant was the best player in the league for about 10 seasons, but his total commitment to dominating the ball and being the only superstar on the club turned the Lakers into a joke. LeBron is probably the best player in the game now -- if you don't believe it, just ask him -- but his total commitment to dominating the ball cost Miami the title last season and will cost Cleveland the title this year. If they were playing the Clippers or the Spurs, we'd all be talking about NBA 2015-16 by now.

I'd only make the case for James as MVP from a losing side if they force a game 7 & that game is close. Even then, it would depend on what Curry's numbers look like in those 2 games. Despite struggling early, he's still averaging over 20 ppg with 5-6 rebounds & assists per game.

Don, I disagree on James this year. What he's doing has never been done before, not even by him. And to me, it's been damn impressive. He's been an increasingly efficient player as his career has gone on. However one look at what the Cavs have managed when he's not on the floor & it's clear that while dominating like this is making James less efficient, it's making the Cavs more efficient collectively. That hasn't been the case with Kobe and guys like Westbrook & Anthony.

This Cavs unit even making the finals is an indictment of the East & speaks to level of injuries suffered by all of the contenders in that conference.

Also glad to see we have a rational (and very inclusive) definition of what a hater is.

In the most important game of his season, The Greatest Basketball Player In the World went 13 for 33 while his team lost by 9.

Congrats to Steve Kerr and Young Mr. Curry. And now the NBA can take a long summer's nap.

I'm with Joe! The best team on the floor won. I had my doubts about LeBron before this playoff.
