West: Golden State won the West in Game 6 of the Clippers-Rockets series. Clips dominated up to the point of the 3rd quarter when up by 19 at home to close out the series and then a total collapse. Would give Houston a better chance if their best defender Patrick Bevelry was available. Golden State v LA would have been fun since those teams hate each other, but this could be an interesting series if Houston can sneak a win up there, but I'll take the Warriors in 5.

East: Cleveland keeps winning despite the injuries. First it was Kevin Love, now Kyrie Irving is nursing leg injuries. Hmm, I guess this LeBron James fella is pretty good. I honestly didn't think I'd ever say this in my lifetime, but I enjoy watching a professional team from Atlanta play. Of course the Hawks model the way they play after the Spurs. That said, I just can't see them taking out James, Cleveland in 6 and the NBA gets a Curry v King James Final

Most likely you will regret facing us after last night's loss of 115 - 80

Never thought the rockets would beat the warriors just hoped. Thought since the start of the year WCF was as far as this team could go and that's still a vast improvement over the last few years. For what it's worth this warriors team and last year's spurs team are probably the best TEAMS have seen play basketball in many years. They really are a joy to watch.

As a huge Golden State Warriors supporter, I am extremely happy that we are at the finals.
Now hoping that the Warriors win against Cleveland. We have home team advantage

I have no faith in anybody being able to shut James down -- except for the Spurs or the Clips. This is going to be an ugly series, and I really hope the Warriors can win it all.

Hmmm, Curry guarding James. Yeah, that'll work.

Might want to pump the breaks on curry "stopping" Bron Bron. Beat him? Yes. Stop him? Not unless they play with a 6th man on the floor at all times to help curry stop him

I think Emi means the Warriors will stop the Cavs, no way Curry guards LeBron. What Golden State does have are bodies to throw at him, Barnes, Thompson, Andre I, and even Green will take their turn.

I stopped watching the regular season years ago, but don't ever recall a playoffs where every good team sans 1 has had major injury problems. The only team that hasn't gotten the bug is the Warriors. Have to give them a slight edge, but if it goes 7, wouldn't put it past LeBron to will them to victory.

The Warriors don't have to stop Lebron to win as long as the keep him from elevating everyone else around him. If Kyrie is even close to healthy and can make Cleveland a two-headed monster this series will become a knock-down, drag-out fight to the finish. I think the Warriors are more explosive as a team on the whole but I can't under estimate the Lebron James factor of making average players around him look extremely talented. He carried Miami to the finals last season and he has done the same for Cleveland this season but he is going to need some help to get past the high flying Warriors.

It will be interesting to see if James switches off to cover Curry when Steph starts on one of his scoring binges. In his day I loved me some Reggie Miller because you knew more often than not he was going to put his foot on the oppositions throat in crunch time and enjoy doing it. Curry is today's Reggie Miller type of long-range assassin with more talent and more talent surrounding him. If not for that guy named Jordan I think Miller would be wearing a ring or two today. It will be interesting to see if Curry can get past today's Jordan.

I couldn't care less about the regular season. I DID notice that Cavs were having some issues at midpoint.
I MIGHT watch some of the Finals. You might say I wish them luck and will be pleased if they take it all.

One of the coolest things about this matchup is some starving fan base who've waited decades will realize a dream. It's been 40 years since Rick Barry led Golden State to the title. Cleveland's history of heartbreak and futility is well documented. Both arenas will be electric and that translates to the neutral watching on tv.

Glad that Klay Thompson is cleared and he will play the next game.

Only the NBA could take an entire week off in the middle of their playoffs. Ridiculous. We should be playing game 3 on Thursday, not game 1.

Game 1 in the books and Cleveland has to be kicking themselves. LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and Mosgof were excellent and the Cavs should of won it in regulation. However, not only did lose it in OT, but Kyrie looks like he reaggravated the knee injury. Golden State bench is so deep and it was a key (outscored Cleveland's bench 34-9) reason for the W.

The game was really good despite the break and it would be really a shame if Irving is as hurt as he looked. I will say that all the morons that said the Cavs were better without Kevin Love are just that..morons.

That was a great finals' game, overtime wasn't nearly as thrilling, but the Cavs and Warriors punched each other in the mouth, to provide a fun, entertaining game - my son is a Warriors supporter and he avoided bedtime tonight to watch the game, b/c, hell, when is a Warriors' fan going to get to experience this again?
On another note, man, I hope Irving isn't totally damaged goods after tonight. I want to see more good hoops from a neutral perspective.
