Yeah baby! My hometown Purple Aces end the season by winning the CollegeInsder.com championship.

Guess that means Marty has a bit more job security then, eh?

I would hope so. U E is a tough place to thrive at and got a bit spoiled when Jim Crews was here but Marty is doing a good job year over year. Expectations will be high for next season by UE's standards so you never know.

Matt, forgot the Len Bias doc. which was excellent as well. Had no idea at the time but before I went to AZ I went to a Juco in Huntington Beach and that March I convinced my Dad to buy tickets for the Ncaa tourney games in Long Beach. I ended up seeing Bias' final 2 games. He was unbelievable in both. Can't remember who the Terps lost to (might of been to Chuck Person aka The Rifleman and Auburn) but came away thinking he was going to be super star at the next level.

Predicting a Badger upset of Kentucky. I don't know why, I just feel it. Duke will beat Michigan State. Really wish I was up there covering it. Not sure why I'm not. I intend to find out, though.

I'm gonna go ahead and coin a phrase, here...
"It's why they play the game."
    Lol!
Sorta sad MSU didnt represent better but hey... 'Hot is Hot, Cold is cold.'

sorta like when OSU won the grand prize in football. Then, I was happy and a little surprised but not elated to the point of delirium. Neither would I be suicidal if 'bama had drubbed them. So UK fans should just chill and be happy at the great run. They are still the better team.

Kentucky had relied on the Harrisons too much at crunch time for the past two years. That balloon finally burst. The big guys never made the difference down the stretch in any of their close games. All-American Willie Cauley Stein had two points on one dunk. Dakari Johnson didn't score after getting 10 in last season's Final Four win against the Badgers. Marcus Lee was the only big who really showed up for them. Karl Anthony Towns did OK, but could have and should have done more. Just felt they had run out of big plays at the end, and, sure enough, they did. Credit to Wisconsin. Just hope they beat the Dookies. I think they will.

Tell that to the guy with the 40-0 UK tattoo. Hard pill to swallow to go from being the first team since 1976 to go undefeated (even though I highly doubt they would've gone unscathed had they been in the ACC or Big 10) to not even in the title game.

Biggest issue for Wisconsin will be trying to peak again 48 hours later. Duke on the other hand had an easy game emotionally and will be ready to go. They did play this season and Duke smacked around the Badgers IN Madison. Pulling for Whiskey, but all the signs point the other way.

I forgot to add that Bo outcoached soon to be HOF Coach Cal. Cal's pig headed stubborness to man to man "D" (although I don't think a zone would've worked against this team) resulted in easy baskets on mismatches that Kentucky was not used to losing. And the ungracious post game antics were unfortunate. Sportsmanship never becomes elective in amateur sports.

Duke won it, but they have to give a big assist to the tournament committee. They didn't win the ACC regular season nor tourney, but got a #1 seed in the opposite side of the bracket of Kentucky (don't get me started with Villanova). Wisconsin had to beat North Carolina, Arizona, and Kentucky (Arizona was the 3rd or 4th best team in the tourney while UK was the best). Duke beat Utah, Gonzaga, and a less than vintage Sparty. Those heavyweight tilts took their toll and Whiskey looked out of gas with ten minutes left. That said credit goes to the Duke freshmen (UK was a veteran group by comparison) guards Jones and Allen for taking over and delivering when it was most needed.

Spot on, Joe. The selection committee almost gave it to the Dookies. But that's the way a single elimination tournament usually works. You have to be very good, and very lucky. Krie-zah-WEW-skee knows how to get there, and how to win it. But I have to say, the officiating for all three Final Four games was very poor in my opinion. Many, many missed calls. But they were equally bad for all teams, so I don't think they cost any of the losers their chance at the trophy. Just hope that there are better options next year.

Certainly, Duke is Duke, they're on TV more than Leave It To Beaver reruns.

While I only saw Wisconsin v. Arizona - Wisconsin shot lights out that day. I did a double take on the ticker when I saw they beat Kentucky.
