Figures Fulhum would find a way to maximize the pain of an expected loss. I want to be happy about two offensive players scoring and doubling our goal total - and if we had been tied or behind the whole time I might be - but for 10 minutes there was the possibility we could win. Having that taken away in the span of 2 minutes made this loss the worst yet.

 

Magath has got to go. It may not even be his fault that we can't buy a win, but this is the fastest, surest way to motivate a team. Brian McBride for Fulham manager?

With 6 defenders & 2 defensive mids I'm not sure which is more remarkable, that we scored 3 or conceded 5.

I thought McCormack & Rodallega came very close to linking up on some nice stuff v Millwall, so I was glad to see them paired up again. We got a couple of goals from shots inside the box, plus the free kick, so that's a big improvement. We also showed heart battling back from 2-0 down, especially with what sounds like a terrible penalty call.

However, we gave up 4 more goals from shots well within our box (I'm discounting the pen) and that was with Forest missing both Reid & Cohen. We're not beating anyone if we can't organize a defense any better than we have been. What's most disturbing is that we appear to be getting worse about allowing shots from inside our box the further we get into the season.

Surely Kiraly (8 ga, 0-0-2) will not be out there ahead of Bettinelli (1 ga, 1-1-0) again v Blackburn.

 

The thing is this. Dictatorial, disciplinarian style coaches are historically linked with and well schooled in one primary aspect of the sport they coach...DEFENSE. But not Felix Magath. Kiraly will be out there ahead of Bettinelli, Matt. And don't call me Shirley. Unless Magath is sacked before the Blackburn match. Despite yet another loss, it was nice to see some bloody goals from our side at least. I still fear that if we don't replace Magath soon with somebody that actually knows what they're doing, we'll be looking at an extended residence in the lower tiers.
