This day has to drive Pettyfog and his fellow mouth-foamers nuts. On the one hand, it celebrates normal citizens who banded together to overthrow the despotic reign of a bunch of self-important elitists.

On the other hand, IT WAS DONE BY THE FRENCH.

    Bastille Day

Drive ME nuts.... !!! Says the guy who mouth foams over ordinary tax payers protesting against Washington Elitists!
And defends those Political and Corporate elitists with his selective silence while applying cold water when I point out the corruption, inherent!

My head is spinning. And I still marvel at how yours works.

But not too much. I post 'two randy vicars' at 11:31, Twenty minutes later Don posts this.

    Oh well...

    That's sorta Bastille Day, like.
    I guess.

Add to the mix, Theirry Henry to the Big Apple, and petty is pulling out any of the hair he has left.

Wow, Christian, it just dawned on me that Pettyfog didn't condemn Mel Gibson's rant that is getting played all over the Internet. Now, based on HIS reasoning, it must be because he approves of Gibson's racism and abuse of women.

Based on MY reasoning, it's because it's relatively minor in the larger scheme of things and not worth his considered comment.

    But what do I know?

    Henry to NY doesnt bother me a bit. Except for the SLIGHT possibility that he'll be another Matthaus {spelt right for once}
    - but I dot expect that.

If he's there to help.. alla better, even if Crew suffers from it.

If you guys would actually read what I write instead of reading stuff INTO what I write we would understand each other better.

And Don.... dont give me that ....I was responding EXACTLY to what you posted.
'Fellow Mouth Foamers"... indeed; quoth the guy who seldom passed a chance to rant about Dubya

The North Iowa Tea Party giveth; the North Iowa Tea Party taketh away.

Anyone else think it's a little bizarro world that the organization had to pass a bylaw barring photographs of Adolf Hitler from their functions?

But he's just so attractive!!! I have photographs of him all over my house. I disagree with all of his views, I think, but I can't get enough of that cute little mustache!

i' m SURE you think that. While you pretend you dont understand their organization... which is 'loose and diverse' to say the least. It's interesting that some -amazingly those usually espousing 'liberal' or 'moderate' viewpoints on the 'tea party'- think they should form a national unitary organization.

You got any comment on the NAACP resolution, you old windbag?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah... that's right. The only time you had good words for him was on the Amnesty Bill. He was certainly no 'conservative' but I had an affection for him. Thus I felt comfortable using 'Dubya' for a nickname. I might be complaining about some things but I wasnt attacking him.

And speaking of ad hominem attacks....

Rove finally fesses up about why I came to dislike the Bush administration!

My Biggest Mistake in the White House
It wasn't just about the war... it was about ALL the lies and spin spread by Democrat operatives.

As you notice the current administration doesnt hesitate to fight back on the least of charges.

And Don, when Dubya was constantly portrayed with a swastika or Hitler mustache, what did you say about that?
I forget.. I'm sure you went on record as objecting to that, right?

    You are a phony!

Pettyfog unearths the news. All of this enmity in partisan politics came about after 2008 when the Democrats picked on George W. Bush. Everything was peachy before that.

Forget the 8 years of "America Held Hostage" that preceeded the GWB administrations. And I'm not sure I said much of anything about Obama being portrayed as Hitler, nor did I see banners of Bush with a Hitler moustache enough to protest against it. In any case, I dont believe in censoring citizens' right to criticize the president, whomever he may be.

The right, however, spent the 8 years of GWBush trying to demonize such commentary by saying that people criticizing the president and the administration were weakening the country by showing disunity and that, with American troops in the field, were emboldening the terrorists and putting soldiers lives in danger by doing so. In other words, criticizing the president is treason.

Now the right feels comfortable doing exactly what they criticized because a Democrat is in the White House. In other words, criticizing the president is patriotism.

And, Mr Pot calling the Kettle, where was your moral outrage when your hero and role model spent 8 years comparing the US president to Ayatollah Khomenei? Phoney indeed.

Oh, and I don't know who those usually "espousing a liberal or moderate" point of view are, but there already exists a "national organization" of the "Tea Party Movement." It's called Fox News.

You and the rest of the fuming right are becoming increasingly comic. There's PLENTY of substance to criticize the president and his administraton about, but you can't get past the mis-labeled Socialist jibes, the Birthers, the Muslim connection, and all that other extreme crap. You're more interested in ratings than in even identifying what the president is doing wrong, never mind proposing alternate methods of solving problems.

Wake me up when the right is more interested in helping to form the future of the country than they are in being smooched by Hannity and Beck and Limbaugh. Wake me up when the right and Congressional Republicans give a crap about government and governing again. And a little intellect would be nice on the right as well. I haven't seen much of it since Goldwater died. All the right does now is throw rocks, and most of them throw like girls [I aplologize Heather, Terri, Kathy, and Maureen].

These arguments are mostly useless. Mostly.

Democrat vs. Republican always ends up looking like two old-school WWF villains facing off in the ring, and the entire crowd booing because they don't want either one to win.

Who's arguing? We're just calling each other "asshole." At our age, that's our cardio.

Once we get a manager and we can start concentrating on the season, I'll go back on my politics embargo.

Oh, not you. I was talking about the Boxers vs. Briefs argument that was raging on page 4. I must be in the wrong thread.
