    Point of quibble:
Ryan Nelsen was hardly a 'latent talent'. If he'd been playing in the Cokes League, he wouldnt be described that way. He was pretty much considered the best defender in MLS. And there's some damn good ones to compete against.
I'll take it as "recognizing and bringing up lower division talents".

Good point. I think this is one reason why I like Etuhu so much because all the defensive work he puts in. Baird also fit in nicely while Etuhu was out.

Hard to say without knowing who is coming and going.

In short, a tradeoff between (perhaps) Fair Play points and actual points in the league table.

Interesting stuff from the press conference. The interviews from the pitch were amusing. You've gotta love MAF, he's hilarious. Basically took a few shots at Roy saying it was a team effort from himself, management on down and put a lot of the credit on "his players". Said Roy took advantage by capitalizing on a group effort, but he's forgiven him. MAF also pointed out we've got a new pitch this year (which was news to me).

Couldn't find a link with the segment I'm talking about. It was on the 1pm ET Sky report.

Re: A past player's view on Leslie

    Yay!
Last night I saw a young sub fwd playing D right in front of his CB's even though he'd scored two goals.
I saw a 37 YO Argentine running from one side to the other at 90' just to keep the opposition honest and not let them push up. That's what wins games 'in the long run!'
