With all the betting that goes on in England over matters like these, couldn't Al Fayed make a small fortune by betting and appointing who he bet on. Mark Hughes is falling in the odds 11/2 and Zola is 28/1. He could use the winnings towards a new transfer.

This is the best option for us of all the rumored managers out there, imo. I'm thrilled if it's true.

I'd be OK with Martin Jol. Good European contacts and likes an attractive style of football.

Jol would be a nice addition. Quiet confidence and class - just like Fulham.

Doyle at the Guardian dishes on it... "And Robbie Keane, too!"
Oh, and Eddie Johnson plumps for Bradley. Hmmm .. too bad he didnt say something earlier, MAF didnt consult him for some reason.

    Robbie Keane?!?

Extremely fired up after seeing Robbie Keane's name as a potential target on the GuardianUK rumor page!!!

I'd love to see him and Jol reunite for the Whites!

The addition of Jol would provide some opportunity for humor during dry spells (Martin's brothers are named - no joke - Dick and Cock)

All kinds of commentary could follow reading this article, but I digress...

Likes: SGE may be too expensive and Martin Jol looks like the clear frontrunner...

Dislikes: Speculation that USSF is extending Bradley's contract...

Forgive me for this, but...I'm wondering why Jol would consider the Fulham job.

Might a move from Ajax to Fulham be considered a step down? After all, Ajax will be playing in the Champions League this year (assuming qualification).

Please don't flame me for this...just wondering out loud.

JP, i thought something similar, but was a lil hesitant to bring it up, so props to you. Can it be a sign that he see's the potential our squad has? Does he know something about what kind of transfer kitty he may get, and maybe already know the players he can bring in? Or maybe Ajax was already looking the other way.

Doesn't matter in the end i guess, i like the appointment (assuming it's true).

The word in London is that he and his wife would like to live there again and didn't want to leave in the first place. Of course that's likely just speculation, but feasible.
