Fulham have drawn Watford at the Cottage for the FA Cup third round. All I could immediately think of is @HatterDon and his many comments about the "damned Dirty Yellows".

I don't recall the last time I heard or thought about Watford. They currently sit sixth in the Championship (I had to look it up) so they should put up a rather tough fight. At present, I'd like to see Fulham put out a strong side and attempt a deep cup run but, depending how the next month goes, I may have different ideas come the second weekend of January.

The biggest match of the third round involves Arsenal hosting Manchester United. That's a tough draw this early.

Also, no replays this year. Matches tied at full time will go to a 30-minute extra time, then penalties if still undecided.

This one is now set for the evening of January 9.

I have a coworker who lives in Watford so I actually HAVE thought about them recently! We've commiserated about the ups and downs of rooting for a team that is not one of the established Premier League squads. You get to experience the unmatched joys of moments like Troy Deeney's winner against Leicester in the promotion play-offs (one of the all time great football moments IMHO) but then the misery of a final day relegation after a season with three managers.
