Jordan Pefok pounces on a poor back pass in 95th minute and puts it away for Swiss Champs Young Boys in a 2-1 win over Manchester United :eek::eek:

BBC's preview of Chelscum's Euro match led with a detailed account of Christian Pulisic's injuries and efforts to get into playing shape. To sum it up, he's not ready, although they hope to let him have a few minutes on the pitch sometime in October. What's disconcerting is that this is his third major long-term injury since arriving in London. He is, IMHO, by a large margin the finest footballer the USA has produced, but I'm afraid he's going to be remembered as a never-was sick note. We'll see.

saw that Cameron Carter-Vickers [now of Celtic] made the Scottish Premier League best XI of the half-season. I'm wondering if this might rejuvenate his international career.

    Dike to WBA.

United States international Daryl Dike has joined West Bromwich Albion from Orlando City on a permanent deal on a four-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee, the Championship club announced on Saturday.

Shout out to Josh Sargent on his first Prem goals (he had scored a couple in Cup play) for Norwich. His brace lifted Norwich into 17th and likely the short stint of Ranieri at Watford.

The Norwich supporters chants of USA USA after the match had to make Sargent feel good.

And this right after Berhalter leaves him off the roster for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

    https://theathletic.com/news/arsena...-turner-to-join-in-summer/NlRcc4bohohN/?amp=1

Good for Turner personally, huge bump in salary, a chance to move away from an NFL stadium (can’t believe Kraft hasn’t at least broken ground). However, from a USMNT fan perspective, this is not great news. Our top 2 guys riding the pine?? Turner has absolutely no chance to play unless Ramsdale gets hurt. So we have Steffen, who CAN’T stay healthy in training (never heard of a backup GK get dinged like he does) and never plays, and now Turner who will get top notch training, but simply won’t see the pitch. Highly unusual to say the least.

EDIT: Turner will at least get regular playing time until the summer when he completes the transfer.

    @astroevan Hit the mail on the head w/his gif on the WC Qualifier thread. I was doing a project at the casa and both the Chelsea vs Lille and Villarreal v Juve matches were on separate Spanish channels, so I was flipping back and forth. Weston hit a cross from around 40-45 yards right on the Striker’s foot that was a thing of beauty, the shot just missed. To get hurt that badly (tackle didn’t look egregious) is heartbreaking and clearly overshadowed a positive from Scumford Bridge;

The Undead beat Lille (sadly Weah didn’t feature on his 2/22/22 BDay, which is obviously concerning); Pulisic had his BEST MATCH in a long long time. Forget the goal, it was everything else: Passing was sharp, dribbling was tidy, and when he did carry the ball it was into open space not just trying to get around a defender. He tracked back and defended fantastically, he stopped a long run by Renato Sanches (that guy is ready to move to a bigger club) that required tremendous skill and effort. All that was fun to see but it was his #1 weapon that was on display…his movement without the ball was BACK. He put himself in great positions again and again w/out that final pass getting to him until the goal when Kante found him. That was the Christian Pulisic we all know and love yesterday.

PS: Berhalter sucks, but even he should see that Christian needs to be on the LEFT. CP is versatile, but w/McKennie out we have to put our best player in his best spot at the end of March.

Tip of the cap to Jesse Marsch! Took over a tough situation and following a Manager whom Leeds fans consider a Legend, and has kept them up. I can’t see him staying long term, but Marsch deserves a lot of credit. American players have an uphill battle, American managers have it much worse.

Looks like his first player to be signed is someone he coached at Salzburg

From an extended family situation I know an English Leeds United supporter, who like most Leeds supporters hated the American signings (to go along w/Jesse Marsch who has earned respect begrudgingly), I told him that Adams and Aaronson were plenty good enough, and thankfully they came thru in Leeds 2-1 win over Wolves. Aaronson was sensational throughout and the OG given to the Wolves CB should be credited to him. Adams had a very solid match as well. I even got a message from the Leeds fan agreeing, lol.

The Good; Aside for the above (and our boys Jedi & Ream) Jordan Perfok got the start and scored an excellent header in his Union Berlin debut.

The Bad; Pulisic needs to get the F outta there. Played as a sub, he has officially become the whipping boy for their idiot moronic fans.

The Ugly: Ricardo Pepi’s move looks like an unmitigated disaster. He came on as a sub in a 0-4 loss. Have to hope that he has a support system there, and focuses on getting better on the training ground.

Josh Sergeant is finally having some fun at Norwich. He scored in their last match and, so far today, he's scored two more. Nice to see the lad getting a chance.

I'd like to have the USMNT have a good look at him and Carter-Vickers as well.

Glad to see him get a few goals. He also pressed from the top pretty well.

If you haven't seen it yet, you need to see Aaronson's goal against the filth today. It is the epitome of what Leeds America is doing well.

Jordan Pefok (announcers still using Sebastineu) is showing he can score in the Bundesliga and not just the Swiss league. He was also credited w/the assist on Union’s 2nd goal. What I’m loving is he seems to be a step faster, both his goals have been excellent.

Haji Wright scored a brace against the defending Turkish champs in a 5-2 win

Berhalter wants to ride the hot hand, so adding in Sargent’s form we got 3 guys making a major push.

Yunus Musah started and scored an absolute cracker of a goal vs Athletico Madrid. Unfortunately it was called off on a foul committed during buildup (rightfully so)

His called off goal starts the highlights
