Time for Fulham to put a frustrating match behind them and head on up to Preston North End for a Tuesday evening game.

Preston had started very strong and going into the November international break they had 7 wins, 2 draws, and zero losses at home, plus one of the league's top scoring offenses. Since coming back in late November Preston has had four consecutive losses, including their first home loss to top-of-the-table West Brom, and scored ZERO goals. That's right, it has been a month since Preston scored a goal.

Despite Preston's recent struggles they will be a formidable opponent for Fulham to face on the road. Preston's striker Paul Gallagher will be back after missing two matches due to injury and Fulham may still be without Reid and Reed.

There were bound to be some disappointing matches during the holiday run, so hopefully Fulham bounces back with a strong performance on Tuesday.

Really, really need to bounce back strong from the disappointing loss to Bristol City at home. I want to see Kamara start and Neeskens be the first sub. They earned it with their play against the Robins, especially Kebano. We’ve had him for 3 and 1/2 seasons now. It’s time to either play him or trade him.

Ugh, not a good thing to check the score and see a red card and down a goal. @HatterDon, was it worthy of a straight red?

Oh, it was MOST definitely a straight red. The red that Preston got was a bit more arguable.

Here I was, remembering what Tuesday nights in England can be when it's wet, windy, and cold, and then first Mawson gives the ball away for the first goal and Odoi loses his mind.

It's half time, and I don't think we've had but one decent shot, and probably nothing on goal. Well, we're both down to 10 men and Preston look pretty poor. It's all up to the weather now.

Don't bother with the replay. Once we got lucky enough to get a relatively generous red and go back to even manning for the second half, we REALLY pissed me off.
While Preston pushed on to get a second goal, we spent most of the first 10 minutes of the second half passing sideways and backwards IN OUR OWN PENALTY AREA. Preston had all the initiative and scored to put us 2-0 down. Mitro pulled one back, but a draw would have been most unfair to Preston.
Here's the thing though: we were far superior in personnel and talent, we had more attacking talent and a hell of a lot more confidence, but we relinquished control of the game. We were much the better side on the day, but we deserved to lose.
Kamara was horrible for pretty much the entire 90. StefJo came within inches of the equalizer, but was pretty much invisible most of the match. Knockheart screwed up about 15 crosses aimed at Mitro. Who was good ... consistently ... throughout? Rodak.

    What a weird, dumb game.

There's still half a season left, but, I think we can practicaly forget getting an automatic promotion spot. Leeds* won today, and WBA play tomorrow, so the gap between them and the rest (i.e. us) could be 11 points as of tomorrow. Oof.

*yes I am fully cognizant they're Leeds and they can choke this lead away.

    Short highlights from Preston:

The whole formation left me scratching my head. I was left wondering why Joe Bryan was on the bench. My guess was that he just needed a rest, but seeing Christie and Odoi out there was just another reminder that we sorely need depth on the left and right sides of defense. At least Le Marchand didn't play, but the results were the same as if he had.

And does anyone know why Cairney was out? With Bryan only coming on after the red and Cairney out entirely Fulham was missing some of their key players.

The match announcer pointed out that Cairney was out due to illness that's running through the camp. S. Sessegnon was a last minute pull for the same reason. And, quite frankly, some of the decision making was so muddled, I'm beginning to think that this was a contributing factor to our horrific passing and man-on-man defending.

Of course, Preston was injury riddled, so that's perhaps not really totally exculpatory
