Earlier today I perused Fulham's site looking to see if they were going to include live match video as part of FulhamTV since they don't look like they will participate in EFL's iFollow video coverage. Someone on Facebook also had the same idea and posted a question about it. Dan Crawford, who apparently is the Board Director of the Fulham Supporter's Trust, said the following in response:
That's good news for us. Hopefully it works out and isn't too many $$.

That does stink now that you mention it. I had never had beIN so I won't be able to miss it personally, but it will be harder now for people trying to keep tabs on the Championship.

I've been watching it the last 6 or 7 seasons -- keeping track of our Championship-based players -- Williams, Spector, Lichaj, etc. etc. I also enjoyed the "one in the booth" announcing, a refreshing change from the non-stop blather on Prem broadasts.

It seems like there was some news about this on Facebook "Following the Trust's meeting with Alistair Mackintosh and Fulham Football Club yesterday (British time), I can confirm to you all that Fulham will be offering live streaming of league fixtures to international supporters via Fulham FC TV for the coming season. The only matches that they will be unable to stream live will be those chosen for live transmission by the American rights holders. The Club also confirmed that international supporters will be able to order individual matches, a season ticket or opt for discounted deals for selected matches. It is envisaged that registration for this service will begin on August 1st.
How much do you think this package will run?

beIN sports has also had a change of heart. They WILL be carrying Championship matches.

After being starved of Fulham football last season, we'll have FFC v. Norwich TWICE on opening day -- live on ESPN3 and delayed one hour on beIN sport. All this PLUS our sports package .... .

Another post on FB from the Board Director:
So hopefully we'll have details on Thursday.

In other news it might be ESPN/BAMTech that will show Championship matches here in the US. http://worldsoccertalk.com/2017/08/02/bein-sports-espnbamtech-championship-tv-rights-says-source/

Watched a bit of the Sunderland-Derby Co. match on my dumbphone this afternoon. Picture quality was quite good and I'm already paying for it, so I hope a lot of our matches are aired there. Lots of empty seats at the Stadium Of Light, it appeared.

I know some people did the fulhamfctv subscription last year to listen to Jim, but has anyone signed up this year?

I'm having serious debates with my inner financial manager. It's kind of like the angel and devil on the shoulder.

Also, does anyone know if ESPN3 has officially taken over broadcasting the Championship from beIN? I was out of town last weekend and wasn't able to check which network was carrying the matches.

ESPN3 is now the official broadcaster. BeIN is out. All matches once on BeIN will now be carried by ESPN3. (why this happened at the 11th hour and not like in June, who knows)

Assuming the season is 9-10 months long, the fee breaks down to $15-20/month. That's...okay.

But the true value will be found in how often ESPN3 (technically MLBAM, but thats too much info for this discussion) decides to air our matches.

If we do well (tv loves good teams!), then we'll probably be on ESPN3 a lot. (You may remember the likes of BHA, Newcastle, along with Leeds and Derby aired on BeIN sports a lot last season.) This will hurt the value of the package as games on ESPN3 means no FFCTV.

If we do okay, then we probably wont be on ESPN3 a lot. This will help the value.

I haven't signed up for it yet, but leaning toward 'yes' because I can actually buy this package (unlike my other favorite team, the Orioles, thanks to stupid MASN blackout regulations)

Forgot to add: this package is only for league games. Both Cups (League & FA) are not available

I won't be buying the video package, but I might go with the classic version without live video (kid #1 is going to college next year and the boss has put us on rations). When I was thinking about getting the video package (back when we thought kid #1 wanted to go to a state school) one concern I had was the quality of the video. The FuboTV video stream was absolutely horrendous. It got worse when more people watched so that the FA cup final appeared as a series of slides that loaded every 20 seconds. When I cancelled FuboTV they asked for suggestions, so I told whoever was reading the comments to get a new job because it was clear they weren't going to make it as a business. After that experience I became concerned that the live video from Fulham could be horrible. I wouldn't want to pay for the year until someone else tried it out.

One of the downsides at this point is the desktop only viewing for live matches. That means I'll have to hunch over my laptop while (most likely) sitting in a wooden table chair to see the action. I liked the ifollow option because there was a small chance that there would be a roku app to watch. At least I can see espn3 on my tv while lounging on my comfy couch through the roku.

So Evan, no laptop HDMI to TV connection on the new service?

I dont even have a desktop....guess that would be a deal breaker for me.

Coach, desktops and laptops are both fine. You can plug your laptop into the TV via the HDMI input to watch on the big screen (although I can't speak to the quality). Fulham says specifically on their tips page that HDMI is okay but "casting" is not:

If I stream a match, I'll definitely have to try this. But odds are that my roku is nicer than my laptop.

Its more than a little annoying that they won't be part of the leagues ifollow package, which is £10 cheaper, and will work with Apple devices.

Does anyone know if the Fulham tv service works on a surface pro?
