Time to turn to Omaha and the last 8 college baseball teams left standing. One positive by Arizona getting knocked out earlier in the tourney is I won't be on the hook for a T-Shirt like last year (see Evan's avatar). There is however, plenty of FUSA flavor. @jumpkutz has his Louisville Cardinals fresh off of beating Kentucky to advance to Omaha. @MicahMan sees his alma mater Florida State make their 22nd appearance at the CWS, but first in 5 years. Micah's other favorite team aka the Florida Gators are also there ;). @AggieMatt won't have to wait until the fall to see his school make a run at the ring as Texas A&M is making their first trip to Omaha in 6 years. I'm sure Matt wouldn't mind seeing the angry toads of TCU (making their 4th straight trip) take it all if the Aggies fall short . @Coach K is our honorary LSU supporter (well maybe not, outside of Fulham, I'm not sure who he roots for, but he's not far from Baton Rouge), the Tigers will be looking for Natty #7. That leaves the two west schools left that I do have a rooting interest in. Oregon State is where my sister, brother in-law went to school, and I have a nephew currently going there. The Beavs will be making their 5th trip in 12 years and hoping to add their 3rd National Championship in that time span. OSU winning would be cool, but my heart will be with the Cal State Fullerton Titans. My daughter is studying to be a teacher there and baseball has always been her favorite sport. CSF is college baseball royalty, the Titans will looking for Natty #5 in their 18th trip to the CWS. They've made an amazing 25 straight NCAA tournament appearances (not too shabby for a little school in Orange County that lives in UCLA/USC's shadow)...Play Ball!!!

Thanks for posting Joe. This is Louisville's 3rd trip to Omaha in five years, and 4th in program history since Dan McDonnell became head coach in 2007. Despite being a 7 seed, they could very well have their best team ever. Ranked first several times early in the season, they finished 52-10. They open with Matt's Aggies on Sunday afternoon. Regardless of how they fare, it looks like Tom Jurich is gonna have to find more cash to boost McDonnell's paycheck afterwards to ward off potential suitors. He's a class guy, knows his stuff, and has become an institution here. I hope he stays forever.

The first two years of my life were spent in student housing at FSU and the University of Florida so until 1998 I actually did root for both FSU and Florida! (my parents didn't raise me right, they also let me have an affinity for both the Eagles and the Redskins - what's wrong with them?!) However after being accepted to grad school at FSU I had to sever ties with Florida although I knew it would pain my grandfather, a proud UF grad. #COYN!!! Come On You 'Noles, is that a thing? Can I make it a thing?

Just an opinion, mind you, but I think the seedings have cost us the possibility of the two best teams meeting in the finals. Oregon State and LSU are significantly better than TCU and Florida.

Speaking of, I expected to be impressed by Madrigal, OSU's player of the year 2B, but I was NOT expecting to enjoy the play even more of their Freshman catcher.

    Good baseball this CWS

Hey! I've been on Summer holiday (lying, I've actually been in Summer classes at UNO) but have been hearing and seeing lots about LSU's chances in this year's CWS. Gotta admit, I'm no LSU fan, but its good for business. Hope y'all enjoy the tournament.

Louisville's exit was somewhat less than graceful. Hated to see Dan McDonnell tossed on top of two blown calls. Bottom line, you don't let it get to that point if you want to advance. Still a heckuva season for them, and, as Arnold said, they'll be back.

A little surprised Florida had never won a CWS before. The game turned on a runner's interference call against LSU that would've tied the game. It was the correct call according to the rules and while I never root for the Gators I was more than happy to see the idiot LSU fans that threw garbage on the field go home disappointed.

Ouch, SCJ. Although I was more than a bit disappointed to see the Tigers' "fans" geaux so early, I was thrilled to see that the home-plate ump was a graduate of Bethel HS in Hampton, VA. He was a good guy from a great family, and he called an excellent game.

I lost track of him after the early aughts when he did some umping in the majors on someone else's sick leave.
