Proud to say Arizona is still alive and well in Omaha. The Cats have only given up 2 runs in 3 games, but unfortunately lost 1-0 to Oklahoma State. They will have to beat OSU twice in a row to reach the Final

@astroevan, Good luck to Coastal Carolina in their elimination game tonight. A UA-CC Final might require a wager of some sort.

I watched a little of the CCU / Florida game Sunday. I haven't been following the team at all (was kind of surprised that they were there). Coastal is on the other side of the spectrum, they've only scored 3 runs in 2 games. The offense will need to wake up if they are to get through three straight wins over the Texas teams.

A step closer for Coastal Carolina Evan. Let's hope one or both of our schools can reach the Final

I watched the last three innings last night. I was very concerned that CCU was unravelling before my eyes, but they held on and live to fight another day. I'm not sure what their plan is for the decimated bullpen (4.1 innings and the most pitches ever in one outing from the closer last night). Rumor has it that their ace Andrew Beckwith will start on short rest though. Hopefully he can go deep and give the bullpen some rest.

I am a big CWS fan (and we never made it there) - but give me the pings as it is a great tourney.

I feel I should know this, but where did you go Nev?

Arizona put a hurting on Oklahoma State today, setting up a winner goes to the Final tomorrow. Obscure fact; Arizona has won 4 national titles (last being in '12) and each one has been in an Olympic year....hmmmm BEAR DOWN!!!

I like the CWS also, although If I want to see my Terrapins fighting for a NCAA championship, it's going to be in either men's soccer, women's basketball, or La Crosse.

There was this one year -- a couple of decades ago -- where a cousin with my brother's name was MVP for LSU, but mostly it's just watching the games with the sound turned down so I don't have to hear CLANG when somebody hits the ball.

Gladly take that win with a big sigh of relief. Clooney was fantastic, and the catch to end the 8th inning that was inches from being a 2 run homer was the difference.

Oh man. If the Arizona starter tonight throws even half as well as Cloney, it's going to be a short and forgettable series for CCU. It was too late by the time CCU finally started hitting the ball hard in the 7th.

I can't find anything online, but am assuming that Beckwith will pitch for Coastal tonight. I'm hoping he continues his dominant run - two complete game victories in Omaha. And that the bats wake up!

Series tied at 1-1. Both teams have faced elimination on multiple occasions throughout the entire tournament so it had to come down to a winner take all.. Arizona's 1st year coach has done a great job, but I strongly disagree with his bunt-happy approach. They had the CCU closer who was forced to start on the ropes in the first inning and attempted a bunt with 2 strikes.. Of course he struck out and the Cats only ended up with 1 run. Looks like the T-Shirt bet Evan and I have (loser buys and ships a National Champ shirt to the winner) could end badly for me with Coastal's Ace going.

Has Bannister been ruled out? I'm pretty sure that both teams are going to pull every punch tonight.

A much more exciting game two last night (from my biased point of view, obviously). I was quite surprised to see Morrison's name in the box score when I first checked the score (I missed the first two innings). He did marvellous and I love his attitude. Holmes was a bit shaky in the 8th but settled down in the 9th.

While both teams played well, Arizona's few mistakes were very costly - only getting one run in the first, allowing a pop-up to fall untouched for a two-base error (that led to two runs on the next at bat).

The first two games have been close and I expect another one tonight. We'll see what sort of stamina Beckwith has after throwing 137 pitches four days ago.

The good news for you Joe is I have a horrible record of betting on sports. May the best team win.

Congrats to Evan as well - and SCJ's alma mater for that matter. That's a hard fight to endure in order to win. Would've enjoyed being able to watch it...nice scheduling.

Proud of the kids for fighting back from being down by 4 all the way to having the tying run 90 feet away and the winning run on 2nd base. Nev hit on it, I followed the game via text updates from a buddy and I wasn't a masochist enough to watch the dvr version (had my wife delete it with immediate effect) just disappointing the game was played at 10 am left coast time.

Congrats to Evan! I'm sure just saying 'National Champions' brings a huge smile. Arizona's coach said that Coastal was the best team they had played all season. As per our wager I will be going on the CCU site and getting you an official Natty T-shirt, just pm me the address it needs to be sent to, Cheers.
