One of my co-workers (a Dortmund supporter, no less) discovered this gem and forwarded it to me. We may have helped the Brits kick their butts out of the Falklands, but they've retained their sense of humor. From the Argentinian network with the Copa rights in that country: sheer bloody briliance that I just HAD to share with the rest of the class.
    Enjoy.

brilliant video - i think argentina still scores over "the wall" - if only wondo could've put the ball in against belgium - i love the guy and still think about that miss when i see him in a US shirt.

Ecuador match...1st half sucked, 2nd half better. Nagbe is good. Kits suck.

Nagbe and Wood need to be starting.

Wood did start, the problem is he didn't start close enough to goal. Both Wood and Nagbe have a bigger impact when they aren't on a wing. Pulisic however, I want to see much more of his wide play.

Couple Nagbe with Bradley as the deep lying CM for the Copas is my most sincere request.

Zardes and Zusi started on the wing against Ecuador. Wood was a halftime sub for Zardes.

Bolivia isn't the greatest of teams but a pretty good effort today.

I think we might have found a formation/midfield for once. The 4-3-3 with Bradley as the 6, Jones to sort of roam and Bedoya filling in the holes worked pretty well.

Which means Klinsi will scrap it in a game or two.

The formation looks more like a 4-1-2-3 to me with the width coming from the fullbacks but I still like the formation as long as the attacking three play defense and press the ball high. I am afraid that if Dempsey, as much as I like his creativity and tenacity, plays the central attacking position the high pressure will not exist against teams that can counter-attack. Without high pressure the narrow three in the middle and two central defenders will create channels when the fullbacks press forward that are going to be difficult to cover.

I like the attacking mentality and I hope we play the formation but I think there will be some roller coaster rides along the way if the defensive pressure falters.

In terms of personnel, I thought the central defensive pairing looked much better with Cameron in the mix and I like Nagbe over Bedoya. Nagbe is a personal style preference because Bedoya is not playing poorly but I really like the way Nagbe has looked in his appearances. Wood is playing with tenacity and making intelligent runs so I hope he has cemented his place as a 90-minute starter.

Looking forward to the start of the Copa's.

Looking forward to heading to Phoenix this weekend, and have been happy to see the weather over there be realitively mild for this time of the year (low 90's)...but now a heat wave is coming. The high on Saturday is going to be 117 . The old saying of 'yes, but's it's a dry heat' is utterly meaningless. 117 is just #@%*ing hot!!

    Isn't that sad!?
That advanced players (coaches?) seem to have to 're-learn' one of the basics!

AKA - Make the defense commit!

Have no idea what to expect tonight from the US team, if you offered me a draw right now I'd take it.

I still think that being invited into someone else's regional tournament isn't all that. Believing that this is more important than the Gold Cup is like believing that a friendly against a developmental Real Madrid squad is more important to an MLS club than is a CONCACAF Champions League match.

Having said that, I'll be watching tonight and the rest of our first round matches also. USA USA USA!!!

    and, here we go.

United States lineup (4-3-3): Brad Guzan; Fabian Johnson, John Brooks, Geoff Cameron, DeAndre Yedlin; Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Alejandro Bedoya; Bobby Wood, Clint Dempsey, Gyasi Zardes

looks more like a 4-5-1 with Bobby Wood as the 1, or a 4-2-3-1 with Bradley and Jones as the 2

Worse news for USA is that James made it in the Colombia lineup. He was perhaps the most impressive player in Brazil during the WC and he's not let up since then. Should be fun.

The 2 guys that play in England with 2 brain cramps. Michael Bradley was putrid..period. Bedoya hustles but with little effect. One positive was Brooks looked much more mature and assured. Finally, I know there aren't a bunch of options at LB, but against Costa Rica the player for the US that has as much of a chance to score as anyone else Fabian Johnson simply can't be stuck back there.

Fabian is not a defender. He is a goal scorer. Cameron screwed the pooch on the corner. And Deuce puts zero pressure on the fullbacks and keeper up front. Not good.
