Just kidding, it's a heck of an accomplishment.

 

Now it's 20-0. Usually there isn't much to talk about until the Spring, but Steph Curry is crazy good.
Can't say I watched Jerry West or anyone before him, but on pure shooting ability (which I'd say is different that scoring ability) this is the list I came up with;
When I was a wee lad: Rick Barry, Lloyd World B Free, Downtown Freddie Brown
'Which of y'all is going to finish 2nd?' Larry Bird
Most Underrated: Dale Ellis, Mark Price, Del Curry (must be a proud Pop)
Best to ever give Spike Lee the choke sign: Reggie Miller
Recent Times: Steve Kerr, Steve Nash, Ray Allen

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple other marksmen, but with all due respect to all those guys Steph Curry is the best I've ever seen in terms of shooting the rock, beyond amazing.

 

Great list. If you're talking about amazing shooters, you need to include Peja Stojakovic.

 

If I had to pick a top 5 (in no particular order) I'd go with Bird, Allen, Miller, Drazen Petrovic & then I'd probably add Steph Curry.

Others deserving a mention. Texas legends Calvin Murphy & George Gervin. The Iceman is mostly associated with his finger roll, but he was a lethal shooter. Jeff Hornacek was right up there with Price. Mitch Richmond & Chris Mullin. Dirk for a big man. And old school, while I never saw him play, I grew up hearing Bill Sharmin was one of the greatest pure shooters ever.

 

Really wish we had a team. If ANY small market would support an NBA team, it's Louisville. And I can't stomach adopting the Pacers.

 

Great names thrown out all around and love the mentions for Peja and Drazen - great shooters (and I couldn't believe it's been 20+ years since Petrovic passed away). Curry is insane in the present day.

For bigs that I was able to watch for a long time, Hakeem the Dream, and the Admiral Robinson each could drain a short-range jumper, fadeaway, or both on any given day.

 

'm finding it funny that players from the past continue to bag on the Warriors 'Our Suns teams would've beaten them easily'-Cedric Ceballos, yeah Ced those Phoenix teams that NEVER won a title. Stephen Jackson (who won a title in San Antonio) was on a Golden State team in 2007 that got to the Western Conference Finals as an 8 seed, and he said that team would beat the Warriors . Um, Golden State is 53-5!!! Steph Curry put on a show Saturday night in OKC that was nothing short of brilliant. He doesn't just come off screens, he'll dribble and create a sliver of space and boom.

 

Folks in the bay area, assuredly the Warriors as well, just use these asinine comments as fuel for the fire. It's funny that so much vitriol is cast at a unique, era-defining team (and I'm not a Warriors supporter but my kids are) that is so fun to watch/experience. The Warriors can defend with the best of them, they're not a "soft" team. Injuries to their bigs have been a bit of a hamper lately, but they grabbed the Brazilian (yes!) dude formerly of Cavs/Blazers as a replacement. The "old guard's" dismissal of this incredible team, while peers "tweet" respect to Curry and the Warriors is incomprehensible. And Durant wants to join for next season.

The Spurs are the only team that take down the Warriors (and that would be a dogfight), OKC and Clippers are a combined second.

 

nothing to not love about coach Pop - first ballot HOF when he finally hangs it up. now the real question is when the western finals go down can he best his padawan in 7 games? the kerr - pop - warriors - spurs - bulls connections are amusing (notice i omitted the lakers... )

 

Unlike the NHL playoffs where any team can win, the riff-raff of the NBA (the 5-8 seeds) have been cast or will be cast to the wayside soon and it's time for at least one heavyweight tilt as OKC & San Antonio square off. Would've included the Clippers & Warriors but the Curse of Donald Sterling strikes again last night in Portland as Chris Paul broke his hand and Blake Griffin tweaked his knee. This gives Golden State the time necessary to get Curry healthy, while the Spurs and Thunder go 7 games.
