Fulham posted the interview below with Kit to talk about the summer transfer window, the future outlook, and some player updates. The player updates of note:
    • Bettinelli is likely to be out 4 to 6 months. That was the first time I recall hearing a timeline for him. Given that estimate I wouldn't be surprised if he's done for the season. Thankfully Lonergan seems like a solid pickup. I think we may have been motivated to get him because of Chelsea's moves for Bettinelli, but whatever the reason it worked out for the team.
    • Garbutt is still going through rehab and no timeline was given for his return. Five weeks ago he was estimated to be out 4-6 weeks, so that recovery schedule is out the window. Who knows when he'll be back.
    • Parker is playing in a friendly and is expected to be back soon.
    • Williams is not as far along as Parker but should be playing U21 matches soon
Kit said multiple times he has the players now to be successful. He said to feel free to judge him by his record now that he's gotten the team he wants. Sounds fair to me. Let's see what happens.

It's been interesting to watch Kit's maturation as a manager since he took over. If you watch the first couple videos with him when he fist took over he looks bright eyed and generally thrilled to be our manager. Now he's much more stoic. He seems very comfortable and realistic about the challenge to come. He knows we have the squad to challenge for promotion, and anything less than that will probably leave him out of a job.

I don't know that that should be the case. Of course, I don't think we have a squad to make a real challenge for promotion either. We're a lot closer, but we're not there yet. As such, I don't know that his job should be on the line if we fall short. I rather doubt it is as long as we finish comfortably midtable and show signs of progress.

Maybe I'm naive, but I would be disappointed with finishing mid-table and not at least challenging the top 6. We're mid-table now, and I think most would say we've had a poor start to the season.

I've said before I'm expecting top 10. I just don't get the sense that Kit's job is in much jeopardy, so midtable or better will probably keep him safe.

I don't think we're a playoff team b/c I think we'll fall short in the goal scoring category, in part due to the composition of the squad & in part b/c of the style of the manager.
