I'm sure the trolls that live under the bridge of the same name in the south bay area could probably compete in the Scottish second division as well - Dumbarton Bridge FC

Begging the question, is he so popular with the Arsenal staff that they got him as far away from London as possible without actually being off the island.

I guess Rangers' new coach is a big youth guy (already has two Tottenham youth players on loan and he is one of the founders of the NextGen Series (a now defunct youth tournament which spawned the UEFA Youth League)).

But Zelalem did well in his first game today. Getting the assist on one goal and helping setup two others in a 5-0 win.

Don, I'm afraid your impression of Zelalem is a bit of out of character. See this profile:

    http://www.theguardian.com/football...m-london-gedion-zelalem-would-transform-usmnt

I know you watched him in the Under21 tournament and he didn't play well to your liking. However, your criticism is out of character for what he is known for his short playing career. He is known for passing and vision. The U-21 tournament was his first time playing with the team and he didn't have much time with teammates before the tournament. All I am trying to say is will you give him more an opportunity and watch him a bit more before dissing the kid?

It's obvious that my attempt at humor didn't work.

My bad. I just took it as a jab at him given your previous comments on his play.

Yedlin loaned from Spurs to Sunderland. He'll get playing time, but probably gets to experience relegation as well.

Wow on Yedlin, figured it would be someone in this division. Considering how bad it worked out for the last yank, I'm sure the Sunderland fans are besides themselves on this move.

Is that immediate, or after the MLS season?

Don't understand your question about the MLS season. It's immediate but Sunderland's next match is v Spurs, so he'll likely have to wait an extra week to play.

I think Don is under the impression that he still plays in Seattle?

Sorry; brain fart. I saw "Yedlin" and read "Zardes."

Well, I've been watching Stoke City's matches since we got relegated just to watch Cameron. I guess it won't kill me to go back to watching Sunderland.

Probably won't kill you but there's a decent chance it'll put you in a coma.

If he hadn't scored, it was a stone penalty. That's a very handy defender.

Maybe I'm slow to think of this, but AJ being the no. 9 for Werder Bremen is a huge deal. Bremen is one of the bigger clubs an American has ever played for. I guess since he didn't really develop his game in the US, it's tough for us to take too much credit.

As far as his place with the national team, if JK actually believes his "Our players need to be playing for big teams in Europe" garbage, surely Johannssson should be starting every game for us.

It IS a big thing and we SHOULD be building our attack around him. This is one of the few things that Matt and I agree about.
