    It's that time again, and looking forward to reading everyone's expectations about the schools they follow. Let's see if I get this right (please correct me if I'm wrong, and add if I've forgotten);

The San Antonio Boys: AggieMatt; Mateo's favorite color is burnt orange  other than that I got nothing. JK, his beloved Aggies will put up a bunch of points, can the defense chip in? 'Fear the Turtle!' as HD's Maryland Terps are adjusting to life in the Big 14 (or however many teams they have). Don might be more into it if he didn't hate pointy football (minor detail). That said he will undoubtedly make at least one post here.

The Chatroom/FB Crew: Rarely post, but can be found in the Chat on matchdays; SteveFakeBlood's Mizzou Tigers have fared far better than anyone anticipated in the SEC. Christian follows Georgia which of course means that he will be stunned when the Dawgs don't win the National Title for the 35th year running.

The Smarter Than the Rest of Us Guys: Tim went to Northwestern, Sacffc went to Princeton…they win.

The Coolest Team Nickname: Evan is a Coastal Carolina Chanticleer. Can they repeat their playoff push of a year ago?

The Big Ten Followers: Lax is an Iowa Hawkeye, not sure what to expect, but the heat is turning up on Ferentz. Encore enjoyed a great year for his Minnesota Gophers, can it be repeated? Pettyfog isn't a huge fan, but likes Ohio State when they get on a roll, so we will probably hear from him.

The ACC is in the House: Jimsig follows Boston College and Micah is a Seminole Even without Jameis Winston FSU will contend. BC is always good to spring an upset. Jump loves Louisville, and while Bobby Petrino is a lot of things, a bad coach isn't one of them.

Pac 12 People: Dtown roots for 2 programs that have great history but have fallen on hard times. Southern Miss and Colorado are fighting their way back to respectability. The one obstacle for the Buffs is the Pac 12 South is a gauntlet. The 2 LA schools (UCLA fans are having fun with USC's coach being hammered at an alumni dinner 'Drink On!'), the 2 AZ schools, Utah are going to make it tough for Colorado. Have I ever mentioned I went to Arizona? ;) Not sure how it happened, but the Cats are the only team in the Pac 12 without a bye week (maybe the only one from a major conference). We will be a better team with a worse record.

Other storylines: How long with it take Harbaugh to turn MeatChicken around? Harbaugh v Urban Meyer should be must see tv. How soon will it take LSU fans to ask for Les Miles' head?

Forgive me If I forgotten anyone.

My first -- only? -- post on this thread: Ohio State is UNANIMOUS pre-season #1?

I love college sports, far more than pro sports other than soccer. Unfortunately my lifelong team and alma mater Fighting Illini are pretty awful. And my other alma mater, Oregon State, isn't much better. As a B1G guy in Chicago I spend most fall Saturdays hoping my Illini don't embarrass themselves and then rooting for Ohio State, Michigan, Wiscy, etc to lose.

Right on CC, have always found it a little mysterious why the Illni have found only sporadic success. As for your other school, my sister and brother-in-law went to Oregon State, but have had to endure the oldest sibling (my brother) having bragging rights (Oregon alum and Duck season ticket holder).

Right on! Go Beavs. I really had no idea the Oregon-Oregon State rivalry was a big deal until I got to school there. Unfortunately it's a pretty one-sided rivalry in football with Oregon being Nike U.

Love college football season. My Ags are picked 5th or 6th in the West in everything I've seen, but I think we'll surprise this year. We brought in John Chavis of LSU as our new DC & we lost very little. Chavis plays a pressure system & we have arguably the best pass rusher in the nation in SO Miles Garrett (who broke all of Clowney's FR records). We have a 5 star FR DT who has impressed big time as well.

Offensively we're loaded & have an explosive attack. My biggest concern is the OL. We've sent 1st rd picks to the NFL in each of the last 3 years & struggled at times up front against the better teams in the SEC last year. I think they'll be the barometer for our success this season.

Can't wait to see the newly renovated Kyle Field now that it's complete. We were loud at 87k. 104k should be insane, especially now that there aren't any open ends. Unfortunately we open at NRG Stadium in Houston when we take on Joe's favorite Scum Devils.

Always liked Oregon St just b/c they call the student support Dam Nation. That and Oregon fans were insufferable when I lived in Seattle.

I've never understood why Illinois isn't better either. They're the flagship school in a good sized state with a major metropolitan city and have a great, albeit old, history.

Longhorn fan myself. College football and baseball have always been my favorite sports. Here's to hoping the horns have a strong season! Bad puns aside really hoping for a good year, it's been a while. Can't wait to start the season, my best friend is a diehard Notre Dame fan so opening day will be fun

Joe - that may be one of the most impressive posts I've seen. Can't believe you have all that down.

My 'Cats will be starting a red-shirt freshman at QB. So that pretty much tells you what you need to know. On the plus side, the fact that the most loathsome program in the country is a consensus preseason No. 1 almost guarantees the fact they won't win the national championship.

Barry, almost threw out you liking the Hoosiers, but thought you were a Evansville follower.

Tx, have to imagine the Longhorns will take another step forward this year.

104K Matt? Dang, that's impressive. You getting out to College Station this season? I don't care where you play the Scum Devils, feel free to smack them around no matter the venue.

UE doesn't have a football program so the community is fully tuned to the men's and women's soccer teams during the futol season locally. Front page of the local paper and everything.

And I thought we could be friends Barry...

Illinois has a complicated relationship with Chicago, which is primarily to blame for our mediocrity. Chicago is prime recruiting ground for just about every B1G team (and Notre Dame) so the top players go to the traditional powers and we're left fighting for the leftovers with Northwestern and mid-majors. As a result we've started going after the Florida and Texas kids that have some desire to play away from home.

Really hoping the Illini can get it back together this year, losing to Purdue sucked. Since I've become a relocated fan five years ago I've picked up NC State (Go Pack!) and I feel they're primed for a more consistent season than last year, hopefully including another destruction of Carolina, that was fun to watch haha. From there, the rest of the year will be interesting consider that I call radio games for a school in the same conference that I graduated from, but thankfully they're not on our schedule this year haha.

Good luck with your Illini, I've had soft spot for them since like 2008 or 9, when I played with them in NCAA on ps3. Plus I pretty much hate Ohio State.

They're especially hateable with Urban Meyer at the helm.
