Jeez, what up with that?! Ok, do we US supporters tend to overhype our players? Yes, what country's supporters doesn't? The Barninho commentator summed it up nicely:

No keeper is going to come out looking good when left to so many 1v1's. Did it stack up on him? Sure. Was it a bad day? Tim would probably say so. But his defense hung him out to dry against a good attacking team.

Go look at some scores for "big clubs" when facing another top side. It happens sometimes & no one is immune.

Good points and I'd also impart that an own goal and a deflected shot should've been considered as well.

I've pretty much concluded that The Guardian never has anything positive to say about American footballers. They even blew off Dempsey's best year at Fulham with scarcely a mention.

Brek got the start and an assist in 67 minutes of playing time. Not a bad debut.

shea looked good for about an hour but ran out of gas. The fans appreciated his effort. I was happily surprised.

At any rate, I'd say he's earned another start, at least. Shea, that is.

He played today, but Brum got waxed. They're really a rather poor side. Like Blackpool, Rotherham, and Leeds, they're worse than us.

I'll buy Blackpool are but stats & the table would strongly suggest otherwise on the rest of the league.

Of course people said the same about the teams around us & our chances of being relegated from the Prem last year as well despite the numbers being equally appalling.

Yes, Matt, you're absolutely correct. If this were a 6-game season we would demonstratively be the worst team in the league.

And you have a crystal ball? Until we stop treating our 18 yd box like the neighborhood pool, we're a poor football team. Until we stop treating the opponent's 18 yd box like a quarantine zone & stop attacking with the pace of old men on walkers, we're a bad football team.

As long as we continue to do both, we'll be hard pressed to get any results, regardless of talent on the pitch.

To date, you'd be hard pressed to demonstrate that Magath's style is significantly different than MJSF, and you didn't need more than 6 games to know how that was going to turn out.

I'm sorry, I forgot, he's still looking for his best 11 players and that can only happen in games. Here's hoping he finds them pd-f'g-q.
