Website Slowness

If you feel like the forum has been running slower, you aren't imagining things. As part of our transition to a more affordable hosting solution I made the final change to downgrade the hosting package. Before we were essentially running a V8 engine to power a lawnmower. It is possible, I pushed things too far and now our lawnmower is being powered by an hand-held fan using a 9-volt battery. I'm going to look for ways to optimize things, but in the meantime be patient with load times - things should eventually appear, just slowly sometimes. If you get any error messages, please let me know.

RIP Chuck Negron lead singer of Three Dog Night. One great thing about having a brother 6 years older, you hear music that you wouldn’t have otherwise. He was 84.

Tips for the New Forum

If you are a regular forum visitor you'll notice some things have changed since we moved to a new platform. You'll need to register to use the new forum. Once you register here are a few tips to get started:

Click on the "Edit Profile" link in the top right to manage your profile
Choose what name is show with your posts from the "Display public name as" dropdown
You can use an avatar you manage through Gravatar or you can upload your own avatar. To upload your own avatar, you'll have to scroll down the profile page past the Gravatar option
What used to be called "Threads" are now called "Topics". You can leave a reply to a topic/thread just as before
