    Let's get it started!

Newcastle actually fielded a 4-3-3 on the road against Brummie, with Owen, Martins, and Viduka up front. I can't believel that they'll do any less against us. It'll be an interesting challenge against us, but here's the thing: Newcastle Leaks Goals!

Last season we beat them 1-2 in a match in which we lost Jimmy the Bull. It was our last road victory, and this will be our next I do believe.

    So, lineups? Scores?

    ----------------------- Kasey ----------------------

Canuk ---- Hughes ---- Brede ---- PK the Alien

    Davies ---- Bullard ---- Smertin ---- Dempsey

    ------- Johnson --------- McNificent ------------

Score 0-2 -- the second of a 4-match winning streak!

Is Murphy out this week or is he out next week since the accumulation of yellows occured on Sunday?

I assumed this week ... and I still think Accumulation of Yellows is a great name for a band.

Don, Smertin's my favorite Russian, but no way he starts ahead of Leon (who as Simon Davies said has 'given us some steel in the middle of the pitch'). Roy will go w/the same lineup as last week, but if Murphy is out, Duece will hopefully be back (and will score his 7th).

With 24 points left and 15 of those on the road, the lads have to win away to stay in the top flight, period, exclamation point. They know it, we know it, so dammit let's go get it!

Saw on the offal the supporters have sold out the away allotment (many people upset not to have a ticket), so looking forward to hearing the fans lifting up the squad and also seeing those third kits.

my bad, SCJ. I should have had Andreassen in there instead of Smertin.

Those third kits are hot...especially since they were originally modeled by mi vato Boca! Muchos besos!!!

Regardless, I will be on the proverbial pins and needles for this one. I predict we will dominate Derby on their own turf; however, this match against the Geordies could swing either way. The best I hope for is a Geordie draw, then a win against Derby and a win when I am at Craven Cottage against Sunderland. My ulcer and my liver will be overwhelmed with glee (and relief)!!!

Put five Yanks on the pitch this match, por favor...

    BTW- my manicurist hates me...

Nooooooo, not the shiny blue kits, aaaaaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps the hideousness of them will distract.......well, everyone but our guys, who hopefully practiced in them or something to get used to the awfulness.

HEY!!! I like the shiny blue kits...damnit, PCB!

When I watch a match, I am allowed one girly statement a game...my girly statement this game concerns the shiny blue kits. I like 'em.

Or it could be I just like Boca in one.

Okay...Boca could wear a Spam tuxedo and still be hot.

    Anyhoo...Fulham v. Toon= 1 to 1 draw. Would love a win. COYW!!!

terrinh73, one girly statement made on 3/19/2008 at 9:55 p.m. regarding upcoming Newcastle match. Note, has now used up girly statement quota for this match. Check.

Okay, I think we are good to go.

Join me Saturday in cheering on, beer in hand, belching not only allowed but encouraged, as we chant at the top of our lungs, "COME ON YOU WHITES!!!!!"

I'm just waiting for BarryP to say we will "nick a win", and it is as good as done.

I'd like to see a Diamond midfield: Bullard at the point, Andreason behind, Davies on the left and Dempsey on the right (or reverse those two, it matters not)

Just for the record I do believe we are going to nick a goal and get the win at St. James on Saturday.

I'm with Don on the line up and AndyP on the diamond.
The FFC Facebookers seem to agree.

Taking Andy and Don's suggestions and pretty much copying my lineup that I would have liked to see since January...and we aaaalmost saw last weekend...

    -----------------------Keller--------------------------
    Stalteri--Hughes----------------Hangeland------PK

    ---------------------Andreasen-----------------------
    --Dempsey-------BullardBullard----------Davies--

    --------------------------------McGod----------------
    ------------------Johnson----------------------------

Bench: Niemi, Volz, Bocanegra, Bouazza, Healy

...with this line-up, we dont drop a point the rest of the season.

If Andreason can be convinced to concentrate on helping/supporting the back 4 as his first priority, then the diamond midfield line-up has tremendous potential....COYW

I've gotta be honest, Newcastle's front three scare me and they don't play to the Hangman's strengths. He's the best defender we have but I think he needs to partner with whoever, of the other center backs, is the fastest. Is that Hughes? I'm honestly not sure. In any case I think we're going to need to score at least 2 or 3 goals to win this one. It'd be really nice if Dempsey could dig his shooting boots out of the back of his closet.

It'd be nice if Dempsey got a start again this season because with him, McGod, Bullard, Johnson, and Davies out there...we have five legit scoring threats...
