So with AJ out up to 8 weeks, who do you favor to partner with Bob?

I also wonder if this means Kamara stays, Eddie doesn't loan out (if he was going to), and if it alters Roy's plans in for signing a forward or two.

Dempsey is the most logical choice. Nevland is not as effective as a starter, and EJ isn't ready yet. I think Kamara is pretty much gone.

I think that if Roy had a striker on his radar, he'll probably continue to pursue him, but I think that anyone we go after will be 2-3m quid more expensive to us now that Andy is hurt.

I vote Nevland, but maybe sneak in EJ for a game or two to see what happens.

i think it will be Nevland, because Roy trusts him, and we all know how much that means on this squad. I would LIKE to see Dempsey there, with Duff/Davies on the outsides. When is Davies back?

I'm thinking EJ. Nevland can't go 90 and Roy doesn't like starting a game, knowing he'll have to sub someone. Perhaps, after Davies is fit, Dempsey might get some time up there, but Gera hasn't shown any real positives, especially defensively, and Roy is not going to want to risk his shape to put Dempsey up top for 90 minutes.

    I think that encapsulates it.

Nevland isn't as quick as AJ and he isn't as creative as Demps but his finishing is absolutely clinical and i think he's got a really good head for the game.
He's smaller and quick enough that he could get in behind defenses so since that's the offensive scheme that Roy's had the boys training with then it makes sense to me that he'd put Eric in.
Like I said in the Chelsea match thread, I think that BZ and Nevland up front with Demps slotting in behind them would be a good idea.

I think Nevland, voted EJ, and who did Kamara piss off btw? All quiet on the Dimonsy front. How about Nevland starts, Duff comes on at half, Dempsey moves up front?

How about no one, and we go 4-5-1.

Can you think of a least likely striker in a 4-5-1 than Bobby Z?

Havent been following much lately so I didnt know there was talk of Kamara leaving. However, he is who I would start, bring in Nev at 60 minutes.

I think Nevland could fill AJ's spot pretty well, but I think he'll still be used as the super sub (except for our return trip to Russia). I'd give Dio the start. He did well at the end of last season. When Davies gets back, I'd move Dempsey up.
