Ranieri as next Fulham skipper?

This comes via Soccernet, and it seems that from somewhere rumors have started that Claudio Ranieri, Mourinho's predecessor at Chelsea, has been linked with the job following the season.

Ranieri, who took over at Valencia after leaving Chelsea and is currently at Italian side Parma, also admitted he could be tempted by a return to the Premiership.

Ranieri has been linked with a summer move to Fulham but asked if he had been approached by any English clubs, he said: 'I don't know. I have heard nothing myself, I don't know about my agent.'

But Ranieri has expressed an interest in taking charge if Fulham stay up.

The Italian, who is currently on a short-term deal with Serie A strugglers Parma, has a home in West London and has been a frequent visitor to Fulham since being axed by Chelsea three years ago.

Caretaker-chief Lawrie Sanchez, like Eriksson a client of agent Athole Still, is said to be confident of getting the job permanently. But this seems unlikely.

Harrods owner Fayed does not want Sanchez to combine Fulham with his role as Northern Ireland manager.
