Nope, nothing to see here...No I take that back, we've brought Clint in to get in shape for the Sounders

Silly me I also forgot that we are busy shedding some payroll.

Does bringing in excess coaches count??

Yep, this is pretty frustrating. Apparently we still have the luxury of waiting until the last day of the window to see what "bargain" we can get.

It's not uncommon to see little movement in first few weeks of January. For example, last season our first transaction in January was on the 25th. In 2011-12, 2010-11, 2009-10, AND 2008-09 most of it not all the moves were made on the final day.

When Roy took over and we found ourselves in a more precarious position than today--first transfer was on January 18. Next wasn't until the 22/23, then not again until the 31st. Patience.

It would seem that we pretty much have to wait and see what the big boys do before we can try much. Just the reality of being a bottom feeder, financially speaking. That said, it's obvious our biggest needs are on defense. Joleon Lescott, anybody?

I guess we are talking to Steven Defour of Porto. Don't know too much about him other than he is 25, is Belgian and plays midfield.

At first thought why would a guy leave a perennial CL team like Porto for a relegation fight? Doesn't make much sense except it's a World Cup year and no player wants to be left without a chair when the music stops. First team football is a must, so this story might have some traction if he has been in and out of the Porto lineup. Will say I have no idea what kind of player he is, but if he plays for Belgium he must be pretty good.

We need defenders. I'll take Taylor.

I'm trying to reserve panic and judgment until after the window closes, but so far, this is looking just like every other Fulham transfer window and that's not encouraging.

Perhaps we have made the decision to plug the kids in and sink or swim. IN any event, we'll know Feb 1. Most signings in January happen in the last week anyway.

For some reason I am not bothered by the lack of signings, even though we need a major overhaul. I guess because I want to see the kids play and see whether we can stay up with them?

It's the last few days when clubs like us can make a move. Selling clubs will panic when nobody has made a move for the guys they're willing to lose and will cut selling prices -- sometimes by a bundle. Only the very rich clubs can sign a guy at whatever the market will bear.

Reports in Italy suggest that Adel Taarabt is due in Milan in the next couple of hours to complete a loan switch to the San Siro. It is also being claimed that no agreement has been reached for Cristian Zaccardo to link up with Fulham.

At this point, just saying goodbye to a bad loan is enough.

This is actually better as it would free up a loan spot. For the Holtby/Berbatov swap, perhaps?

 Getting rid of Taarabt and Berbatov and getting Mitroglou, Holbty, and Kvist? We just might have a chance?
