I am confused. I hear some people saying that Carlos Bocanegra is suspended for Saturday's match and others are saying he is not. Boca picked up his fifth yellow last weekend against Brum.

My understanding was that you had seven days to serve the suspension. Thus, if you had two matches in a seven day period after the card was given, you could choose which match you wanted to miss. However, in Boca's case, he only has one match in the seven day period, against Derby. I thought in this situation, he would have no choice but to serve the suspension during this match.

This being said, I have a two part question:

    A. Is Bocanegra suspended for the Derby match this Saturday?

    B. What is the FA's policy for serving suspensions?

What was the answer? That is an interesting question.

I am still waiting for one. The answer from last weekend was that Bocanegra did serve a suspension against Derby County. So, it looks as though my theoriy on how players serve a suspension is true.
