Nev, I believe Chicago Tom is a Palace fan also, so you're not alone. A ten point deduction in the middle of a season is a kick in the gut. Feel bad for all involved (players, supporters, club staff) except for Neil Warnock, the man is a first class Ass.

It was just four seasons ago that Palace was a Premiership side with an England striker named Andy Johnson. It was just three seasons ago that Palace and Luton were both in the CCC. ChicagoTom and I had a friendly wager about points. It was a close thing until Luton dived down late in the season and Palace rallied.

Now Luton's out of the football league as the result of repeated cases of financial instability, and it looks like Palace is on the way there. For years, football jokesters have referred to Tom's and Nev's boyz as "Crippled Alice." It looks like they might be.

I think you can guarantee a points deduction sufficient enough to send them down, just as I'm sure you'll guarantee that Pompey, Hull, and West Ham WON'T get one.

    Sad, really.

Statement on Crystal Palace UK Administration

    Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Baltimore MD - Everyone at Crystal Palace Baltimore is saddened to hear the news from Crystal Palace in the UK that the club has been placed in administration. For the sake of all the staff, players and fans, we hope for a speedy and positive resolution.
In response to concerns about how the UK club’s financial situation affects the Baltimore club, Crystal Palace President Pete Medd stated: "While the news out of London is not welcome news for Palace fans worldwide, we want to assure our supporters and the North American soccer community that this situation does not affect Crystal Palace Baltimore’s operation or finances. However, we are very close to the staff and ownership there, and we’re pulling for them to get a favorable resolution. Times are tough and Crystal Palace has been a great partner over the years and we really hope for a positive outcome."

Reading between the lines - it may not be called Crystal Palace Baltimore this time next year.

    Phil Hart is a Masochist!!

Bless Paul Hart. The guy obviously loves a challenge, is a football man, and wants to manage. However, you would think that his first gig after getting a lifeline from the sinking ship that is Pompey would be perhaps as an assistant at a stable club (he has to have numerous connections). What does Phil do? He decides to take the head gig at Crystal Palace. The man either has taken one too many hits to the head or straight out is into pain and suffering.

Paul Hart spent about 6 games in charge of the fly attracting mess that is QPR after leaving Pompey, don't forget. He's obviously trying to get even with himself for committing a heinous crime in a past life.

I'll subscribe to that when he coaches Newcastle.
