T_of_M, where did you get that starting lineup? USSF doesn't usually announce the USMNT lineups until a couple of hours before the match. If you got it on Soccernet, I think there's a 50 percent chance that it's bogus.

Check the link Don. I just got it from Soccernet. Not sure if it is legit or not, but that is what they listed.

Now I am pretty sure it's bogus; Soccernet doesn't usually list the starting lineups until AFTER the kickoff.

No GolTV for San Antonio -- I mean, after all, why would we want a bilingual soccer channel here in South Texas? -- so I'll be watching Telefutura. Was going to go out to dinner with friends, but SA looks more and more like Venice every day so we're staying in tonight.

my perfect result is nobody on Team USA gets hurt or red carded.

2-0 Paraguay at the half. HatterMom says I'm in hog heaven -- Telefutura w/Copa America and ESPN2 with DCU v. Colorado [speaking of which, please tell me that Troy Perkins is MLS's WORST goalkeeper].

Back to the telly ... oh Argentina 2 USA 1

So the US has a mountain to climb now to qualify. Paraguay looks fully capable of dismantling the US as they did to Columbia and the US needs to capture three points against Columbia or they are toast.

Wouldn't put my money on the US making it to the next round, but crazier things can happen.

Anyone know why Nguyen didn't play last night?

Were you expecting him to? He's a kid [a talented Texas kid, I grant you] who hasn't played more than an hour of first team football. Why would he be playing against Argentina?

I figure if he plays at all, Bradley will give him a runout to experience the moment.

What better time to throw him on at the end of the match then...he would gain some valuable experience from playing against the Argentines. I wasn't hoping for him to start as that would be throwing him straight into the fire, but about 5-10 minutes at the end of the match once the US was really chasing the game.

Was he even on the sub bench?
