    ya think?

In the 45 years or so I've been paying attention, he's one in a group of four players that transcend "great." Chronologically, they are:

    1. Pele
    2. George Best
    3. Johann Cruyff
    4. Lionel Messi

Stuff Christiano Renaldo, stuff "The Hand of God," stuff Sir Bobby Charlton, stuff Zinedine Zidane. NOBODY I've seen breaks into that small group.

And the little shit is only 22.

But that is an Argentinean 22 years old which means he is like 30-35 with the way they live.

Dammit Lax you beat me to it. Was going to go w/'That Messi kid might have a future', but your 3 words were better.

This kid is so good, that even the crackhead-wackado manager might not be able to screw up the WC for Argentina.

Messi is good, but Inter are coming out of their slump and will confidently beat Barca over two legs. Mourinho will lead them to glory.

I don't know, 24. Barca looked half as good today as they looked at The Emirages last week, and they completely dominated a very good Arsenal side.

Inter may win over the two legs, but they'd better bring their lunch, because they're in for a looooooooooooooong day.

Holy smokes. I don't know what to say.

I bet a lot of Gunners woke up crying in the middle of the night last night, with a tiny little gremlin in a 10 shirt causing nightmares.

...and unfortunately Argentina is in our half of the bracket this summer.

I will admit though, that Arsenal beats teams by keeping the ball; they're not even as good as Fulham at taking it away so context should temper our fears.

In the words of the immortal Dan Patrick: "You can't stop Lionel Messi; you can only hope to control him."

    Don't bet on it

Messi is very ordinary in his NT shirt right now. That might have something to do with that two bit crackhead choosing everyone under that sun for a shot at the team. Too bad I am not Argentinian, I might have a cap by now.

Steve's right. If Argentina go anywhere in the World Cup, it won't be because of Maradonna, rather in spite of him. And even for Messi, the weight of carrying a team is too much for his Growth Hormone enhanced shoulders and legs.

Just a reminder, I'm sure you guys all realize it..

Anytime a single player goes on a tear like that, the TEAM better prepare well for the next match.

I'm pretty sure it was "contain" and not "control". But agree with your point all the same.
