Terrence Boyd scored the game winner in the 88th minute of the Vienna Derby.

Timmy Chandler had an assist in his first game under USMNT whisperer Gertjan Verbeek on Friday.

Sacha Kljestan scored his fifth of the season in a 1-1 draw.

FC Dallas' Bobby Warshaw now has seven goals in eight games since going to Sweden on loan after his goal this weekend.

And possible USMNT newcomer Julian Green scored another two goals for Bayern Munich's U-23 team. He now has 15 goals in 15 games at the German Regionalliga level (fourth tier in Germany) so far this season.

Keeping an eye on our Euro based players:

Alejandro Bedoya went the full 90 in a 1-1 draw as Nantes is still the surprise team of Ligue 1, currently in 4th.

Michael Bradley went the full 90 for Roma in their 1-1 draw. Roma is sitting atop of Serie A.

Sacha Kljetsan and Anderlecht have been getting stomped in the Champions League, but they are picking up steam in their own league. Sacha tallied his 7th league goal in 14 matches.

Was fortunate enough a few years back to travel throughout Mexico and one of our favorite places was Leon. Besides block after block of leather goods outlets there were hundreds of people in Green and White hoop jerseys (ala Celtic) heading to a rickety old stadium. They were in the Mexican 2nd division at the time, but just won the Primera thanks in no small part to a tall, blond goalkeeper by the name of William Yarbough.

Hate to correct you Joe, but I believe that Roma is now trailing Juventus despite having not lost this season.

Jump, you are correct Juventus is ahead of Roma now, but Roma was leading Serie A on Nov 5. when I stated it. Speaking of whom, our engine Michael Bradley went the full 90 as Roma and AC Milan drew 2-2 on Monday.

Brek Shea loaned to Barnsley for a month, started and went 75 minutes in a 1-1 at Birmingham. Barnsley is rock bottom of the Championship, but it looks Shea will be given some games to prove whether or not to they want to extend his loan. It's now or never for him if he wants to gain momentum for a possible spot on the WC squad.

Well if he's angling for a MLS gig, perhaps he' going for 2 month vacation as well? Not good form on his part for his career. Does his family live in the States currently?

He could go to Klinsman's January winter camp to stay fit and then join an MLS side. I also imagine he could be of use to one of the struggling premier league teams. Sunderland could certainly use some help in their midfield; they look simply awful at times. Fulham, however, does not need Jones, imo

This is an article about a non-issue. Zelalem cannot represent the USA since he is not a citizen and he's not getting citizenship anytime soon, especially considering the fact that he's living and working (soon) in another country. 5 minutes of homework by author would have revealed this. According FIFA rules Gedion could play for the US but not according to USSF rules. Too bad. The part about how this could cause him to loose his UK work permit is interesting

Mo, the article wasn't really about Zelalem and the USMNT, it was a general background story on Zelalem. I highlighted the key parts which he identifies himself as an American, he grew up around DC, he's been talked to by Klinsman, and the fact that if he were to pursure US citizenship he might jeopardize his pro career. Talk about not having your cake and eating it too. :)
