The other thread was incorrent -- THIS is Fulhamish. My post assumes the game is on.

There WILL be a test on how to spell the name of that volcano!

Since, by dint of the fact thaqt we made no subs today in the 0-0 game v. Wolves, a result which is a lot like flatulence in a house of worship, I assume Woy was saving his resources for this tie, which hey, I guess I can't argue with at this stage of the game.

Hamburg is 8th in the Bundesliga and just lost at home to 19th place Mainz 1-0, which I guess is a lot worse result than the 0-0 v Wolves of today. A quick, lazy glance at their squad shows that their squad isn't that much bigger than ours. We seem to do OK on the road in Europe, and I'm thinking a draw in Germany, and a win in the Cottage, and then we go right back to Hamburg for the final. Wow, I really just typed that. Fulham in a European cup final.

A lineup pick is for thise braver than me, but is there any chance the mighty Clint will return for this one?

didn't look like anyone was injured yesterday, although I was more than concerned about Hughes's knock in the first half. Everyone played 90 minutes. It'll be interesting to see who's out there. Paintsil maybe?

Last I heard Uefa was still undecided. St pancras was PACKED on Saturday.

I think a victory might be tough but if its a draw let's hope we get an away goal. Who knows, I think everyone will agree they have proved themselves capable of just about anything. I just hope we have 2 games in Hamburg over the next couple of weeks!

When it comes to the spelling of the volcano I envoke my God given right as a male to abbreviate and/or nickname any person, place, or thing. Henceforth, in my flawed and backassward vernacular I will refer to the ash/ice spewing mountain as either Eyjie, Local-jokull, or the Iceland Cometh (IC for short).

Just caught on Sky Sport that the decision will be made tomorrow (Monday) about the matches.

The decision should be made shortly. There an article over on ESPN that indicates that one solution might be for us to travel by rail. Roy's not thrilled about that, but is more concerned about the 2500 fans who bought tickets to the away match.

The Club can confirm that its Europa League Semi-Final match V Hamburg will take place on Thursday 22 April (kick-off 8:05 BST), as planned. The team has a contingency plan for travel to enable them to arrive in Hamburg in time for their scheduled match preparations on Wednesday evening.

This will be one tough match. Could be 1-0, Hamburg. Could be 1-1. But I seriously doubt we get anything better than a push.

Everything I've read says Paintsil didn't make the list for this round of fixtures b/c we'd have had to leave someone off in the previous two rounds to include him. Given the other injuries, that wasn't a realistic option.

1-1 draw. I'll be watching with a pint of Fuller's. Glad to see the ash won't postpone the match.

Amsterdam sounds good. They got it up on their website, so they should be open. They burned me once and didn't open for a Europa League match.

Sorry I won't be there to chaperone you, Matt. Lift one for me. Oh, and I got a large package today from French Connection/Silver Fox. When next we meet I'll have some reading material for you.

One thing (of many) I like about Roy is that he has instilled a "no excuses" attitude. There is also enough veteran leadership not to let the mode of transportation affect their performance.

All Fulham fans have a feeling of destiny, but I'm sure the Hamburg fans are thinking the same thing w/the Final being played in their home stadium.

Key; they will come out flying, the lads need to play w/poise and energy. I would take a 1-1 and be perfectly content.

I couldn't agree more, and the first 15 minutes will be the toughest. I think we'll be lucky to get 1/4th the amount of shots/scoring chances - I just hope we're able to sustain some possession and limit van Nistelrooy's influence. 1-0 Hamburg, hope I'm horribly wrong.

"Truckin', got my chips cashed in..."

No doubt about it, the travel to Hamburg was arduous and Fulham will have to overcome as SCJ stated. Did Hangman become a daddy and is he available? Of note, Dempsey is back and hopefully can add a nice spark in the final 30 min.

"The latest leg of a magical mystery tour that began in July, in Lithuania, has included seven countries and covered more than 15,000 miles has offered Fulham the chance of a bonding session they did not necessarily want, but could ultimately deliver them back to Hamburg, venue for next month's final."

"Mark Schwarzer, Fulham’s German-born goalkeeper, added: “We have a very good relationship anyway in the team. A really long trip can either pull the team part or to the contrary and I’d say it’s pulled us all together.” "

Takin' the afternoon off and spending it at a bar...rough, I know, but I do it all for the Whites. :D

Never tire of reading this stuff about our whites. Come On Fulham!

I've got an offsite meeting at 1:30 so I can go directly home afterwards. I hope catch the game early in the first half on Direct TV. Will visit that chatroom at halftime. Come on Fulham!

Chris over at the Hamburg--Offside page took some time to discuss HSV with me. Be sure to check it out, as it is quite revealing:

Watching the game this evening at a friends so no chat zone for me.

But it doesn't really get any better than this, does it?
