I'm looking forward to this game. I think the League cup is a place where you can experiment and not really care if you win or lose. I'd like us to start Kamara with EJ up top and have Duff and Davies play in their natural positions. I think it's important for Duff to get in as many games as possible and for Davies to regain fitness. I'd also like Smalling to continue to start and maybe even bring in Matthew Briggs on the left.

Thoughts on lineups? What are you expecting as far as results go?

Europa and the League need our attention. Throw all the scrubs and fitness challenged out there.

I really couldn't care any less about this match and completely agree with whitesbhoy.... send in the reserves and an assistant coach and leave roy and the boys to practice. If we win great, if not, its probably better for us because we do not have the greatest depth and we need to focus on Europa (since we will probably not get another chance at it for a while)

My only concern about this game is making sure EJ gets some playing time. I don't care about the result.

A: I think Fulham will send in the reserves; and,

B: Fulham will win this match.

It's the most Fulhamish thing that could happen, so it shall be.

I like everything you've said there with the exception of starting Davies. I'd like to use him for another 30 or so minutes and then put him in the starting lineup against Arsenal on Saturday. Another idea might be to start Dempsey to give him a quick chance to rehabilitate himself. As it stands right now, based on Thursday and Sunday's performances, I'm thinking Dempsey's best position might be sitting next to Zuberbuhler.

Stockdale; Kelly, Baird, Briggs, Smalling; Dempsey, Riise, Greening, Duff; EJ, Kamara

And I'm with andypalmer. I don't care who wins on Wednesday. I'm quite happy for the CC to be sacrificed for the Europa League. Come January, however, I want us to go after the FA Cup.

NO we need to focus on the Premiership, with the results and the way they have been playing results in the Premiership are paramount. the squad is still not good enough for Europe and cups, PREMIERSHIP First everything else second.

Similar lineup that featured in Bulgaria, but like everyone Kamara to sit and EJ to get a run out. Perhaps start and or sub the prefered Konch backup (in case PK eventually has to sit).

The CC is looooooooow on my list this year

Stockdale or Zubey -- surprise me
    Pantsil -- Baird -- Smalling -- Stoor
Gera -- Greening --Etuhu -- Riise
    Nev -- EJ

Would like to see what Baird can do marshalling a defense nowadays. What he had to do last year, he did very well. And, would a goal from Gera be too much to hope for? He can't have the first touch that he has shown forever, can he?

Also, a cameo from Davies and AJ would be good as well.

I do agree with you, avoiding relegation is our number 1 priority. However, if we are throwing our team at the premeirship, the carling cup, and europa - even if it is just the reserves at the latter two - we will be too banged up to put our cleats on. So in my opinion, if we where to choose one of them to drop, it would be the carling cup.

The Premiership is important but really, this year, only from the perspective of not getting relegated. It would take a miracle of biblical proportions for us to get back into Europe based upon league table position. We all can easily name the 8 teams better than us.

That is why I would like us to focus on Europe more than say, striving for the top half of the table. Realistically, our best chance for playing in Europe next year will be to win the Europa Cup this year. 7th position in the league, winning the Carling Cup, winning the FA Cup - all will be against tougher competition than we'll face to win the Europa Cup this year.

So yeah, Carling Cup, play the reserves. FA Cup, only play the first team if we're already out of Europe and then play the 1st team 100%.

I think this season and the Club's immediate future come down to some basic philosophies on life in general in comparison.

Do you seek just to survive, or do you aspire to achieve?!?!

well that's an interesting line up. When was the last time Fulham lined up in a 4-5-1?

    is it possibly:

    -------------Greening--------------Riise------------------

    -----Gera----------------Davies------------Seol--------

What a gutsy performance from the reserves against practically the entire Citeh normal starting XI (what did they have on the field?? 150 million worth of transfers??) John Arne Riise (as GJ kept calling him), damn near gave the Whites the lead in the second extra period. Would have loved to hear GJ call the pks. Standing O to the lads, you deserved another round in the CC.
