Yep. I'd say that is about right.

Subs: Torres, Adu, and pretty much anyone else other than Casey Connor. (I understand his job is to actually dribble the ball until he loses it, but really, do we needs someone who is so specialized and brilliant at giving up possession??)

Goes to PKs, and then, squeaky bum time.

Well, I was hoping for Bifana Bifana, but WTF. Here's to a good showing with NO red cards, and an appearance by Torres and Freddy.

Brazil looked flat, and we didn't. No predication, just hope, which this team has backed up in heart the last two game. What did Bradley, or Howard, or some other old head say that caused this? SOmeone did somehting pretty amazing.

Onloy change is Feilhaber for Bradley and Bradley Jr. can stand on the neck of that two bit ref yesterday. He can even jump up and down on him.

I'm with Steve ... no predictions, just hoping that the US gives another admirable and respectable performance. I think what USMNT fans want to see more then anything is that "defend with your life" ... "never say die" attitude.

    Per Don ... COYRWB!!!

I like bostoncottage's starting XI. As for subs, we haven't seen Adu or Torres yet in the tournament and I doubt we'll see them now. Hope I'm proven wrong.

No way I'm picking against the U.S. for this one. I'll go 2-1 to the U.S., probably overtime. If we go to PK's, I'll go to war with Tim Howard any day.

I was thinking on Wednesday, they're not necessarily the best going forward, but that's probably the best defensive back four the USA can field. I guess that makes sense because all four have at least decent height and both Spector and (obviously) Bocanegra have played some center back in the past. The better speed of Cherundolo or Hejduk or Pearce or Bornstein might be advantageous against smaller CONCACAF sides who are playing for a 0-0 draw, but if we're expecting to bunker and block a lot of shots and head away a lot of crosses, I really like this group.

And he actually did a pretty nice job of that against Spain. Its a decent time-wasting tactic, but like you say, very specialized and probably not worth going out of your way for.

    Keys for a chance;

    1. Same playing with House Money attitude. Hoping every guy in the room is looking for a little payback instead of the realization of being in a Final.

    2. Landon; He's been great, but there is one request... don't look for the extra pass, look for the kill shot.

    3. Obviousily don't give them an early goal and into a rythym.

    4. Timmy please keep standing on your head.

The silver lining for our red card troubles is the growing reputation that we'll hammer you, and that's not a bad thing against the pretty boys.

That's probably the best analysis of the USMNT squad I've ever read. I know you must have an honest job, Josh, but you consistently make more sense than anyone paid to write about soccer, IMHO.

If anyone wants to get pumped for the game right now, US-Mexico Gold Cup Final from 2007 is on FSC right now.

I have a good feeling about this Feilhaber kid.....

Odds at the bookies were 7 to 1 for a USA victory...I had to put another tenner down (although I was expecting to see something more in the vicinity of 9 or 10 to 1).
