No neded to convince me, in my corner of Ohio you're preaching to the choir. What makes me feel a little bad is that I gave him flack last year under the LS reign.

What happened when he was at Charlton and Spurs? I bet both of those sides would take him back in a heartbeat right now.

Oh yeah, the 1:40 mark of this video was pretty special too.

He played regulary and influentially for Charlton -- much as he has for us this season -- but he complained that "playing for a small club" was hurting his chances to get back in the England squad. He basically politicked himself a transfer to Spurs and begin the swirl that eventually sucked Charlton down the drain. At Spurs, he was a 30 minute man at best, and I thought it was poetic justice.

When I heard he was coming to us, I was immediately against him because of this "small club" stuff -- I mean, what are we? I stayed on his ass pretty good all last season. But two things turned me around, FOREVER.
    1. He became Roy Hodgson on the pitch; he showed the calm, the poise, the discipline, and the leadership of his boss.
    2. When what's-his-name left for Hull, the very quietly became the fulcrum for every thing the team does out there. It stopped being What's-his-name's team and became Danny Murphy's team.

The fact that he wears my number doesn't hurt much either. When this season is over, it's going to be hard for me to decide whom to vote for for player of the year. Got a feeling it might be Danny, though.

I've done a complete 180 on Murph. I was his biggest critic last season up until he saved us of course, and now he's in my fav 5.

I think that if DM as another season like this one, Capello needs to put him in the England squad for South Africa, he will need him when we get to the knock out stages as he can bring him on to take a penalty, lets face it, he is English and he never misses, that is not rare these days its bloody unique.
