Josh, the "consensus" is based on what they always are based on. The posters I've seen talked about the transfer in the terms I listed. Had Nevland been returning to a team in Germany, France, or Holland, he'd have gone this summer. But because of the extensive winter break, he'll stay with us through the end of calendar year 09.

If there's an additional underlying basis to this, it's the relationship between Roy, Nevland, and the Scandinavian club in question. I'm not defending this or saying it's a good idea, I'm just passing along what I read in a few places over the summer. It does have the ring of truth for me, however.

During this silly season, I have self-diagnosed a case of H. Redknapp-Face-Fatigue. Every damn time I open up a footie website, his fat face is staring back at me along with some ludicrous rumor linking him with any one of a dozen players. Luckily, we don't have much exposure to J. Redknapp here in the U.S. b/c I've heard the combined effects of J. and H. Redknapp-Face-Fatique is instantaneous death.

Oh the humanity, why won't it stop!?! Why doesn't it stop?!?!?

He does TV work for Sky now, which would explain the possibility of combined Redknapp-Face-Fatigue in the UK.

If you look at a picture of droopy dog a few times a day, you can build up an immunity to J and H Redknapp Face Fatigue

(tried to post the picture but for the life of me I cant figure out how to do it, I did actually post a pic once but I must have been so drunk that I wasnt using logic)

Naw, I don't see it, the only thing I've seen that reminds me of 'Arry is what my dog left on the grass today.

Signing Jozy would make me forget about missing out on Crouch. Jozy would get more playing time with Hull, could even start. With Fulham he would come off the bench more, but Roy is a maestro when it comes to molding raw talent. Jozy is built for the Premiership. Hopefully Fulham can outbid Hull and make this happen. Jozy would be a great investment, no doubt about it.

Hypothetically, if Fulham were to sign Jozy, Roy could then sell Zamora to Hull, and Jozy could get more playing time.

To me, Hull's interest in Jozy smacks of "we thought we had a deal in place for Zamora, and then that didn't get finalized, so now we're going to screw with your ability to get the guy you want".

I cant see us paying that much for Josy and I dont see villereal letting such young prospect go when they've only had 'im for a year.

Now a loan would be nice

Villarreal were stupid to buy him to begin with. They really had no intentions on playing him at all last season, they were more or less forced to. He won't figure into their plans this year or anytime in the near future. Its almost as if Villarreal wanted a "buy low/sell high" deal with Jozy.

I wouldn't mind seeing it. He already rides the bench so it's not like it could get much worse for him at the club level. Either desitnation would be nice to see.

If he ends up here, fantastic! I think he could be dangerous up top with Johnson.

If he ends up at Hull then hopefully he gets a lot of playing time. I still can't believe he's only 19.

Let's not eff this one up and make sure he continues to develop for club and country. The best way to do that, consistent playing time for ANY club at this point. And yes, I said ANY. Please see Charlie Davies for a great example of this.
